  1. No, studio and live are absolute greatness for me.
  2. When Coldplay has written their last song and we look back at their career, Charlie Brown is going to be one of the biggest highlights.
  3. Same thing for me with Violet Hill, it pulled me into being a Coldplay fan. I already liked Clocks but that was about it. When my twins were 0-2, they loooooved Clocks.
  4. If that is his voice sped up, what is he saying?
  5. 1. Chris Martin tap solo 2. Guy belching the alphabet 3. Jonny rocking out on the spoons 4. Will doing anacapella version of Funiculi Funicula 5. A cover of 'Freebird' 6. 12 minute bass solo 7. Live version of Hurts Like Heaven 8. Inagada Davita II
  6. His voice on HUH reminds me in the last season of the TV show 'Lost' when Charlie's band Driveshaft had a pop remix of 'We All Everybody'. Sounds much better when he signs it live to me. I'll have to use the live version for my Coldplay hits CD that I use in the car.
  7. I think after the MX tour, they take a year off before LP6. Finish the MX tour in spring 2013, reconvene in spring 2014 to start work on LP6 Fall 2011 - Mylo Xyloto Spring/Summer 2012 - MX EP Winter/Spring 2013 - Live album Summer 2014 - Greatest Hits double album with 1-2 new tracks Summer/Fall 2015 - LP6
  8. I can't wait to hear a live version of this, you know they are going to do some crowd interaction with the drum/heart beat at the end.
  9. Track by Track for me: MX: Studio HLH: Live Paradise: Live CB: Tie UATW: Studio ETIAW: Tie MM: Live PoC: Studio UiF: Studio 4 studio, 3 Live, 2 ties All in all about even so far for me. I can't wait to hear DLIBYH live.
  10. Mylo Xyloto - A: Love this intro, even better than live Hurts Like Heaven - B+: The vocal effects take away from this, the live version in an A Paradise - B-: Works better in the context of the album than stand alone Charlie Brown - A+: Already in my Coldplay Pantheon Us Against the World - A: Tremendous, love the additions in the studio person MMIX - B-: A solid intro Every Teardrop is a Waterfall - A-: It really is the centerpiece to the album Major Minus - C/C-: The only new track I just don't care for UFO - B: Didn't feel like a complete thought, but had promise, still enjoyable Princess of China - B+: A damn catchy song, Rhianna sounds good on it, they duetted well too Up in Flames - B: Studio version feels much improved and is a soulful stripped down jam A Hopeful Transmission - A-: Basically an altered MX, and a very good intro Don't Let it Break Your Heart - A/A+: Roadie #42 nailed it with his description, violently life affirming Up with the Birds - B: I just keep waiting for the part to blow me away and while it is hinted at, it never happens, just a solid conclusion and feeling of satisfaction Overall Record: A- Record Ranks: Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends Mylo Xyloto A Rush of Blood to the Head Parachutes X&Y AROBTTH had more stand out singles but I find MX stronger start to finish, Outside of MM, MX is so strong for me it might threaten Viva, but I need more listens and time to elapse to judge that.
  11. Just in order, off my first listen, just the full length songs: Charlie Brown Don't Let it Break Your Heart Us Against the World Every Teardrop is a Waterfall UFO Hurts Like Heaven Princess of China Up with the Birds Up in Flames Paradise Major Minus
  12. Had they just left the vocals alone it would have been great, I don't like what they did with those all that much, still a great song though. I love what they did with MX
  13. I liked it, it's different and still very catchy. I'd rank what i've heard (or heard a good enough live version of) so far as: Charlie Brown Hurts Like Heaven Every Teardrop is a Waterfall Us Against the World Princess of China Mylo Xyloto Paradise Major Minus
  14. From what we heard in that BBC Drama ad which had the studio version as the background music it sounded just as fast if not a tick faster, so no worries.
  15. Don't Let it Break Your Heart I already know how the songs we know sound, so that limited the choices. I'll be shocked if Charlie Brown isn't my favorite as it is probably in my top 3 Coldplay songs, but I know it, I can sing along lyric for lyric. I'm excited for the last of the new material.
  16. I can't stand the song being broken up half way through, which has happened 3-4 times now for various reasons.
  17. Charlie Brown, it's already in my Coldplay top 3
  18. I don't even think we can call 10/19 a leak, as that is an official release date, just before it is released in the west.
  19. Japan is pretty far ahead of EST so I should be able to listen to it the evening of the 18th.
  20. Poll added Forgot to add how the story works, but I guess you can fold that into album sequencing
  21. Not until it's released in Japan on the 19th. With as much pub as they have done for this album, they are obviously being careful if it hasn't leaked yet. 9 more days and it will be available for all.
  22. With just a little over a week until the album will be available to be heard, whatbare you looking forward to most from Mylo Xyloto? And don't just say everything, that's a cop out answer, try to limit it to the first three things that come to mind. Me: Album sequence and how it flows Don't Let it Break Your Heart Studio versions of Charlie Brown and Hurts Like Heaven
  23. Only 9 days until it's released in Japan, with how long we have been waiting, 9 days doesn't seem so bad.
  24. I've only been lukewarm on Paradise but their live performance of it at Rock in Rio was great. It sounded much more piano driven with more of a guitar presence.
  25. All the way through, the only way you can judge an album and understand it.
