  1. This looks very interesting... awesome vid! However, as Sjef pointed out, they're cheating! In the Glastonbury concert the pyramid only glows during ETIAW!
  2. For some reason I think they once made this website, didn't finish it, and left it as it is. It looks like an unfinished project, like they wanted to announce something, then quickly looked at the calendar, picked a date without paying much attention (hence the wrong day) and forgot about it. Either that, or something really awesome is coming on the 4th December 2017!
  3. Back off-topic: the language discussion was really cool! Very interesting stuff about the Serbian language! Anyways, on-topic now. I really loved the idea of them playing in a harbour with kids messing around and spraypainting evrything. For some reason I picture this at night, because it kinda contrasts the spray colours with the lack of light. Like Chris said: turning darkness into light!
  4. Hey guys! Well, I was listening to the album and I noticed that in three songs they mention some kind of light. Take a look. Charlie Brown: "I saw the lights go down at the end of the scene, I saw the lights go down and standing in front of me..." Every Teardrop is a Waterfall "As we saw, ohh this light, I swear you, emerge blinking into, to tell me it's all right..." U.F.O.: "And that light, hits your eye..." Also, pay attention to the articles: the lights this light that light The songs are always talking about a specific light or lights. Do you think that might have something to do with the story? Or am I going too far?
  5. Well, that's actually possible. Anyways, I don't really think there's right and wrong here, because the concept is loose, so there's plenty of material for interpreting.
  6. Well, um, this is how I see and interpret the story. I do realize it’s kind of weird and far-off, but they made something loose, didn’t they? I guess the idea then is for us to use our creativity. Ok, so the beginning is pretty much what has already been said here: Hurts Like Heaven is a prologue, an explanation of the situation and basically a summary of the album’s concept: graffiti and repression. Then come Paradise and Charlie Brown, which introduce the two characters. Xyloto is a girl which is not happy with the situation but prefers to just hide away and pretend everything is ok in her dreams. Mylo, on the other side, is the rebel. He takes drugs and hangs out with the lost boys. However, he thinks that doing such things is already a revolution and that he’s being a rebel and would eventually win the battle against the system. The fact that he actually believes this shows that he is in fact naïve, which will be something important later. Us Against The World is the part where they meet, fall in love and decide to be revolutionaries. Afterwards comes Every Teardrop is a Waterfall. In this song, they are starting their revolution, gathering people to help them, and I perceive the lyrics as being a message to people, telling them that although things are not well, they can actually make it better if everybody joins their revolution. Major Minus is the beginning of the fight, and when I picture this song, I see in my head a dark room, with Mylo and Xyloto making plans and strategy and warning everyone of the dangers they’ll encounter (“So be careful who it is you’re talking to…”, “Don’t believe a word…”, etc). Now comes the weird part. Bear with me. At first, I was thinking why they had put things related to aliens both on the artwork and in the songs. Well, maybe it has something to do with them after all. In U.F.O, Mylo realizes they are losing the battle and that everything will probably be in vain. So, in a kind of personal confession, but in a way also like a prayer (“LORD I don’t know which way…”), he speaks with the skies (he possibly saw something there? An U.F.O perhaps?). He does not expect, however, any response. As I said, it is kind of a personal confession. Princess of China is when their revolution doesn’t work and they split up. One of the reasons why it didn’t work is, as was stated in the beginning, Mylo is naïve, and he wanted to do everything too quickly. Didn’t work out (“Could have had a castle, worn a ring, but no, you let me go”). Well, Up In Flames is basically Mylo regretting things. Not much to say here. A Hopeful Transmission could be a song someone would forget to analyze in this case, as it’s just an instrumental (I didn’t talk about Mylo Xyloto or M.M.I.X, for instance). However, I do believe that this track is actually very important. It is the response from the skies. This is the continuation of the parallel story which began in U.F.O.. Still, how would alien language sound like? What would a message from the skies be like? It’s just some sounds, but they are hopeful, and Mylo understands what they say. They tell him not to give up. They also tell him: “GO GET THE GURL YOU DUMBASS”, So yes, the aliens are the good guys after all. Don’t Let it Break Your Heart is the part where Mylo convinces himself that he should try again, but properly this time. He got mature, he is not naïve anymore. Yet, he is powerless and has no will to do anything without Xyloto by his side, because he’s still in love. So, in Up With the Birds, he just goes away to try and find her and apologize to her, with the promise of getting back and actually making this revolution work. So yeah, I think that’s it. I hope you agree with me that the story this way actually makes some sense…
  7. Hey, guys, you forgot See You Soon! Such a gorgeous song that nobody really pays attention to...
  8. Wow, beautiful CD. Thanks for posting!
  9. Video coming out this week! Don't know if someone already posted this, but... http://coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=819 I'm so excited for this video! :P
  10. I agree with MasoKnight, and this was something I was thinking even before the leak. Seriously, I really works putting it even before Mylo Xyloto. Try it. Listen to Moving to Mars, and pay attention to the sounds right before it fades, after Chris has stoppped singing. I think these sounds could just continue for some seconds more and then blend into a burst of Mylo Xyloto. That would be awesome! Also, if you listen to the lyrics, although they are kind of meant to be the "bad ending" of Mylo Xyloto, I think they would just as well fit as a prelude to everything, kind of like a prologue to a fiction book.
  11. HAVE. TO. RESIST. TEMPTATION. NOT. LISTENING. TO. THE. LEAK. It's getting really hard, and I only heard about the leak like 15 mins ago... Nonetheless, I am NOT going to listen. I'll have my physical copy and listen to it calmly with good sound quality in my player.
  12. OMG... I just hope they know what they're doing...
  13. Just a small correction, Jenjie: Maná is not a brazilian band, they're mexican! :P
  14. Ok, heelsrule... I'm gonna start by saying that the concert was incredible... if you ever get the chance to download it, do it! Now, I did dance when they played CB, but unfortunately I didn't see anyone else doing it...
  15. Well, I was in their concert in the front row, and I gotta say that it was EPIC, absolutely amazing! Coldplay simply ruled over the other bands in the festival! I wish all of you could be there with me, because in my humble opinion it was better than any Coldplay concert I had watched. Well, perhaps it was because I was right in the front, I don't know, lol... P.S. Gente, parem de postar em Português, o pessoal não entende...

Well, perhaps it was because I was right in the front, I don't know, lol... P.S. Gente, parem de postar em Português, o pessoal não entende...
  17. Ok, just to get this straight: I start the dance in the "All the boys, all the girls..." part, and end in the "as the room is spinning ohhhhhh", right?
  18. Hey heelsrule, I'm brazilian, and I'm going to Rock in Rio tomorrow. If there's enough space where I'll be (the closest to the stage as possible), I'm TOTALLY doing it!!!! Count on me! We just need more brazilians to do this! Brasileiros, apareçam! Vamos fazer a dança quando eles tocarem Charlie Brown no Rock in Rio!!! Hahahaha, this is gonna be so much fun...
  19. Ummm... I guess they were being sarcastic?...
  20. Hmmm... Interesting... "See Roses In The Ram"... What's that? And this 7:5:08 could be a date, perhaps?
  21. Um, 42 isn't a meaningless title... In fact, it is the Answer to Life, the Universe and Everything! It's far from meaningless!
  22. Ahhhhhhhhhh 8 DAYSSSS (OMG I can't handle it. I just can't wait) *And the clock ticks...*
