your opinions on..
It doesn't sound dark to me... Not in a very obvious way anyway though the lyrics are another matter. I like it coz it's cozy/intimate but still has a roomy/spacey feel to it. They're all outstanding favourites, though Crest of Waves does it less for me. Nevertheless, good buys, all.

Who? Kiefer Sutherland or Hugh??? Either way, :bigcry: I only remember him from one film: Stargate :D That was an ace film. He played one of the main characters, the scientist.

- Will Champions best drum beats??
Hehe, there's a bunch of drummers with much better chops than him, but I like his style... :D I hear ya... He has a very 'pianist' approach when it comes to drums, absolutely unique! :D Wow, a female drummer! Not very common, I used to play a little for a couple of years, some basic stuff, and have never quite shaken off the bug since... Although I don't get to bash on a set anymore, I just move to the beats whenever a catchy one comes on... Onlookers must think I'm having a rhythmic seizure + Parkinson's or somthing  - Will Champions best drum beats??
I love your list! :D They're all there... Shiver, Square One etc... I got to add the first two bars of In My Place too.- Rate what the user above is listening

Hey you're right Bart... It is Ari's birthday! Happy birthday to you Ari! It's my turn now to wish you a happy birthday(sorry about the handwriting :P)... Have the bestest day ever!!! :D- MARTIN ENLISTS PALTROW'S VOCALS
   Yeah, but then if the scenario above really happened, then there'll be no collaboration... Everyone has veto power, all it takes is just one person to say 'no' and the idea's a goner... :P And Mimixxx, Chris and Gwyn very private yes, but then maybe they're ok with working in public? :idea2: Also, remember the Nappies... She was in it :stunned: ! Though that was a good thing :)- For any1 on this board who lives in TX-Hope u're safe
maybe it's that time  Let me give a different spin to what's happening... I'm NOT advocating for us to not take responsibility for our environment, but well, we are due for an ice age that's supposed to hit the earth about once every 10,000 years and maybe this kind of climate instability is part of the shift towards it? On the other hand, the Ocean and Climate Change Institute has attributed this increase in hurricane frequency and intensity to soaring temperatures around the world http://www.whoi.edu/institutes/occi/currenttopics/abruptclimate_curryr.html.- MARTIN ENLISTS PALTROW'S VOCALS
^ I think the 3 other guys who have a say in this are more open-minded than most of you think. They will agree to it, the only thing is whether they'll do it under the Coldplay name or change it to the Nappies or something like that... All I hope is that any album(s) with major inputs from any one person outside Coldplay e.g. Gwyneth will involve a change of name...- Green Day annoys me.
Yeah, I agree. For some reason, they way the singer sings is just so annoyin'. My first reaction's to reach for the remote and get them out of my face!- MARTIN PLANNING COUNTRY/HIP-HOP ALBUM

A country album would be nice, provided they do it properly... They do after all play that kind of songs beautifully IMHO. Witness Green Eyes, See You Soon and Lost Highway... But Gwyneth??? That's another proposition altogether. Yep, Will needs to slap him, full stop. Chris can collaborate all he wants, but please, use another moniker... Don't tarnish Coldplay's hard-earned good name!!!- Hurricane Katrina
Aww, that's terrible :(- the Backstreet Boys thread!!
^ What you've said is true, but the question still stands - What's wrong with manufactured bubblegum pop? The music's still there (prefabricated packaging or not), the lyrics may not be too deep (but then the same could be said of other better-regarded types of music), the 'artists' are good enough at whatever love-lorn songs they're singing about... And as I've said earlier up, the main purpose of entertainment (albeit mindless) has been achieved. So... what's the problem?- Guess the song!
I Ran Away "Disposable, collapsible and raw..."- the Backstreet Boys thread!!
this thing is hilarious!!! :laugh1: I know - the whole SUBJECT is hilarious - or should that be "ludicrous"??!! Seriously, what's wrong with bubblegum pop? Of course I know it's nowhere near as deep as say Britrock... But so what? You might want to examine why you detest it so much... Were u so emotionally scarred before that any hint of lovey-dovey shallowness gets u all riled up/sickened? If not, why then? I understand if u get sick of it coz it's played 24/7 at your local radio station and on MTV but then again, I'm sure you'd get sick of any genre music if it was blaring out of every single transmitting device within earshot all the time... This over-exposure is not exactly the fault of the music itself, blame the marketing execs and the overwhelming majority of mindless masses out there. So again, what's wrong with bubblegum music?- Guess the song!
One I Love! "That, and this..."- Hurricane Katrina
Where is Rita scheduled to hit?- Compared to Radiohead...
^ Music snobs I guess... Complete with disdainful attitude and all    - the Backstreet Boys thread!!
What's wrong with bubblegum music? What makes it more relevant/better in any way than 'serious' music? mc_squared, I think you need to re-examine the original social context for music (and all arts for that matter)... Of course there are other purposes e.g. to educate & inspire, but first and foremost, music's original purpose was primarily to entertain. So based on this, I don't think u can devalue bubblegum music, for all its manufactured, intellectually rubbishy's worth... It entertains many people well enough, especially the less-sophisticated (but bigger in number) masses. Anyway, this 'bubblegum pop' music tag is all relative. I'm sure there are some higher-than-thou music snobs out there e.g. certain fans of Radiohead or even classical music who would condemn Coldplay and U2 for churning out 'bubblegum, manufactured rubbish'... - Will Champions best drum beats??
