wow, i feel like i got the shit critiqued out of me. :P no, thanks guys...i really appreciate you guys taking the time to listen and point out things that could make it better. yeah, this was done about a year or so ago...so i've improved on a few things. as far as the mouth half closed thing...i don't hear that myself but i do find it interesting...i was having a cancer scare due to a sore throat i had for months that never went away during the period this song was made. could have something to do with it i guess. what was wrong with me you might ask? it was tonsil stones and to this day i still have them...but intermittently but, as i'm typing this i'm thinking maybe my throat thing wasn't it. i have this fascination with vocals...that are whispery and fragile. i'm thinking i was trying to recreate that...without success of course. not being thom yorke can get to me sometimes.

i liked glee for the first season but when they did rebecca black's 'friday' and were not even slightly sarcastic about it...i felt dirty and had to take a shower afterwards. such whores.

Can't believe i'm the first to say this ...but 'Up In Flames'

one thing i always thought was interesting was how bad rolling stone went off on coldplay about X&Y (in the actual review) but for months afterwards praised the album in other articles etc.. but, it was the fact that a 3 star review was filled with so much negativity since 3 stars is considered a good album. i think that review smelled of someone being let down after some expectations. X&Y is a 4 star album by itself. Only in the shadows of A Rush Of Blood To The Head is it a 3 star album.

Lol dude, i guess i live in that reverse world where Paste mag, Q mag, Blender mag, NME mag all gave it 5 stars. oh, wait...that was this world. Your personal opinion calling my factual statement a preference does not represent the internets.

Well, i do think No Line is a great album. 4 stars anyway.

Here's how i see it. Just looking at the video stills from the first 2 youtube videos posted ...i realize how the artwork from parachutes ..to the artwork to MX...points to exactly how the music has changed you have the parachute era simplicity. a globe surrounded by darkness. everything stripped down to the bare necessities. very raw and gorgeous. To the very chaotic colors of MX. layers and layers. sometimes coming together very nicely...sometimes not.

well, my point was that RS hands out 3.5 star albums all the time. not that it wasn't considered good.

that's really not true. for instance ..both bjork and wilco got 4 stars this past issue. i think 3. 5 is probably fair. i think viva was a 3.5 album i do not think X&Y was 3 stars ...4 stars i think what band out there makes songs like Fix You, Square One, and Twisted Logic? I honestly think the bad Rolling Stone review from X&Y (what they consider bad) is the reason they changed their sound so much with Viva La Vida. They really tried to pursue the art band path. Just from reading interviews where Chris seemed pretty let down by the feedback of the album. although, they got a lot of good reviews from XandY. screw R.S another opinion, another asshole I do wish Coldplay would go back to their more simpler songs...without all the layering etc.. Although, Christmas Lights...oh meh gawd. They are getting pretty good at the layering thing too. :)

Message to Coldplay: if you guys don't leak the album by the time i get off work in 8 hours...i'm going to punch a kitten. that is all. :P

and i guess i should be a little more pleased with myself since you are The 'Champion' the hardest to please of the group :P

thank you. yeah, all i can say is...it's taken a very long time for me to get that good. and i still have a ways away before i hear anything close to 'perfection'. but, it really makes me so happy you enjoyed it.

I think the elephant costumes have something to do with the Paradise video...just a thought.

The song is called 'Pages of History' It's not intended to copy Coldplay musically whatsoever but there's a lyric at the end of the first verse that is a nod to Up In Flames. i love this song. the solo...holy crap. the part when the piano comes in and martin begins to sing instead of whisper.. if this was on MX and along with Major Minus instead of ETIAW or Paradise...i'd be a bit more reassured this would be their best album since A Rush of Blood...

Fight Club. No 1 with a bullet. other honorable mentions... Memento, any Tarantino film, 50/50, Stepbrothers, The Departed, Se7en I'm a big movie buff. I even enjoyed all Twilight films ...although i don't necessarily think they were great (or even good films) if that makes sense. I do think Robert Pattinson is a force to be reckoned with. Just watch him in Remember Me that was a really good film too.
