  1. Yeah, honestly, if they didn't want the location revealed, they wouldn't have shown the outside of The Bakery as they walked into it on TV. Also, I don't think it really matters if fans are there, as people line up all the time outside Hanover Quay to listen to U2. Why not do the same for Coldplay during LP5 recording?
  2. 200,000? More like 15,00 at most. :rolleyes2: But I totally agree, longer setlists are a must. You can't charge essentially 100 dollars for a a decent lower level seat and expect people to be happy with a 90 minute show. I mean, playing for an hour and 12 minutes was fine at MSG because it was free (still too short, but I can't really bitch about it), but when you have people paying in the neighborhood of hundreds of dollars to come to your show, you better be playing 2 hours. Mix things up, have some fun. Keep the fans guessing, and I think it'll truly be appreciated. Imagine the cheers they'd get if you didn't know that the last songs were going to be Fix You, LiJ, and Death and All His Friends--and instead, they threw in Everything's Not Lost or Amsterdam to close--just out of sheer spontaneity. It's what should be done and I think Coldplay will do it in time. Hopefully, anyway.
  3. If they made a video in Japan, then they'd be copying The Killers. :rolleyes2:
  4. And there's rumors of U2 possibly putting "No Line on the Horizon" out to the masses sometimes in October, though November's also been mentioned. October just seems too packed for U2!
  5. See, that bit just shows more of the Talking Heads influence that I love. Listen to Once in a Lifetime by the Heads and you'll see where I'm coming from. And I also relish the un-Keaneness of the track. I told my friend Keane came out with a new single yesterday to which he replied something along the lines of, "More music to put me to sleep." And then he listened to it, couldn't believe it was Keane, and liked it. While this may alienate some hardcore members of Keane's fanbase, I think it'll also pull a lot of new people in who never gave Keane a chance before.
  6. The only additions I'd really love to see are Swallowed in the Sea (which might be a distinct possibility coming up), and for them to close with an Everything's Not Lost/Life Is for Living encore. The latter will never happen and it's a shame--just look at the Life Is for Living performance from Glastonbury 2002 to see the epicness of that track as a closer.
  7. I asked the Oracle why he takes weekends off. God, I've submitted like 20 questions to no avail.
  8. Took the words right out of my mouth.
  9. I can't see the "cheese" factor here. Sure, it has massive 80s influences, but the biggest influence I'm hearing throughout are the Talking Heads. And I love the Talking Heads. And now, I love when the Talking Heads influence Keane. I mean, if it honestly sounded like Wham!, as someone said, I could understand the backlash. But when you take the Heads, Bowie, and Keane and throw it all in a blender, I don't understand the cheese factor. :laugh4: It's good! Shockingly different from any other Keane track (besides Dirrrtylicious, perhaps), but still good.
  10. I had the very same question myself while I was there, but none of my pictures showed it clearly enough to even hazard a guess.
  11. Oh, and if anyone still thinks Keane is copying Coldplay, head over to http://www.keanemusic.com and download their new single. That should put your mind at rest.
  12. Also, I can't believe this is Keane. I mean, I personally love this sound, and I would if it wasn't Keane. But I wonder how this will go down with some of the dedicated fanbase... God, if all the songs are like this, they're going to absolutely KILL live.
  13. I PMed you my link, if that helps!
  14. http://www.keaneshaped.co.uk/disco/song45.htm Lyrics are up already!
  15. I got it. And I am in love.
  16. No link in my inbox yet. Hurry up, Keane! :cry2:
  17. I just broke my word and tried to listen, but I'm on my new computer which doesn't have Realplayer installed, so I can't listen!! So I figure someone on the official Keane boards will have definitely ripped this, so I'll be able to hear it eventually anyway.
  18. Radio 1, come on, us US people are too lazy to go to your site and listen to it live. :laugh4: I'm holding out for the real thing.
  19. They have to be waiting for the Radio 1 play. It's the only thing I can think of.
  20. I ALREADY WAITED 4 DAYS, I WANT IT NOW!! Jeez, I'm inpatient, aren't I?
  21. "Spiralling...any second now." COME ON! :laugh4:
  22. It's currently 5:47 AM where I'm at and I'm already up to hear some Keane. And we are down to 2 minutes. I cannot wait!
  23. Oh, my lord, that was brilliant. I don't know why I like it so much, but I do. Tim said they'd release the most "different" track on the album first (i.e. like with Atlantic and its total darkness), and this fits so well. Wow, so un-Keaneish and so good. I wonder how that'll go down with the general public, though.
  24. 18 and a half hours to Spiralling. Can't believe I'll be getting up before 6 AM tomorrow to listen to a new Keane track. :laugh4: Only Coldplay and Keane get that kind of respect!
