Ghost Stories, release date: 19 May 2014
X&Y is interesting. I LOVE the songs..but the album as a whole... not so much lol. As you can see I have been a member here for 10 years and was part of the X&Y, VIVA, and MX era. There are many types of coldplay songs..catchy, melodic, sing-alongs etc. I have to admit if I am on a long drive and want to sing along to a Coldplay song, I pick X&Y. Talk, A Message (who loves this song btw?.. It's one of my favorites!!), Swallowed In the Sea, Square One are all great sing alongs. VIVA is a great album but its not as fun to sing to (outside VIVA and LoJ). I see MX as a fun/party/pop album which has a great collection of songs to rock out and jump to. So far, I see Ghost Stories as an album similar to A Rush and Parachutes. I am ADDICTED to Always In My Head. I cannot wait for the studio version! I am rambling on but I don't post too much on here despite being a member for so long. GS will be a GREAT album, I know it and feel it.

For those who don't think Magic is a great song, read this :D
It's not a bad song but it's definitely not one that I would revisit often when we have so many better CP songs ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

[11-Mar-2014] Coldplay @ iTunes Festival, ACL Moody Theatre, Austin, Texas, USA
I was pretty surprised at the relatively short setlist and how the songs didn't flow into one another but I keep forgetting that this was sort of a "trial gig". Always in my head probably wasn't played in full. Anyhow, great set and new songs sounded great! I liked the Midnight performance a lot!! I have a good feeling that they will perform at the ACL fest this year!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Setlist Predictions for the future Ghost Stories Tour?
I'm lazy to think of my own but this is spot on! I would just trade Atlas for In My Place and that would be my guess. I also believe they will start with Midnight.. or Always In My Head and play Midnight before the encore starts.

Wish list for next era tour
I think Shiver has a small chance.. Politik a really good chance (Chris' claims that song to be top 3) and I agree.. I actually think that's the BEST song Coldplay has ever done. A Message ?? I WISH. That is one of my favorites! DLITBYH has a decent shot too. Sleep Chant didn't last long at all :(

Wish list for next era tour
So the Oracle confirms that the tour is officially over... </3. This was by the far the shortest tour of them all as I expected them to come back to America at least one more time. This is good since there's a chance we would see an album sooner than later.. I loved the MX tour.. although I thought the Viva tour was more structured... OK, so I have been reading a lot of the posts here and c'mon lets be realistic here, the tour will probably consist of 24 songs at the most. I wish we could get a dream setlist of 30 songs but it won't happen. From MX, we'll get ETIAW, CB, and Paradise but that's it. (maybe DLIBYH) X&Y - Fix You and maybe the revamped version of SoS (Chris hates the normal one) VLV - VH, Viva, LiJ, hopefully LiT ii Parachutes - Yellow A rush - Clocks, Scientist, In My Place, hopefully Politik Songs I would love to hear again: Talk, Strawberry Swing, Trouble, Shiver, Dont Panic, Death and All His Friends, Swallowed In the Sea, White Shadows.. I have been with this site for almost 10 years and I don't post often but stuff like this is appealing to me.. I am really looking forward to the next album, I think it's going to be just as good as VLV of not better. Coldplay felt like they needed to come out with something they would enjoy playing live, which is why I think the MX tour was the most entertaining tour of all...The "Xylo" stuff was just brilliant, I loved it. I am just stunned that the tour ended so soon.. I looked it up, the last few tours lasted around 23 months.. (WOW) . This one was almost a year and a half...I guess the band thought they didn't need any more time to bring new fans it (That's what MX pretty much did) Chris

Mylo Xyloto or Viva la Vida?
I would have to say MX.. I am keeping in mind the 'now' factor but still after thinking it over, I would say MX by a hair. I loved the Viva era but even during the era I wanted Coldplay to come up with something more..'fun'. Like songs that were up beat and you can rock out too - similar to the killers for example. X&Y had a couple (white shadows and talk) and I was hoping the new album would fill the void I haves. Well sure enough, MX came through and came out with amazing songs like CB and HLH.. The album is just more fun overall and I love the new outfits, upbeat songs, and ideas. You can really tell the band is having more fun, especially during the live shows, than any other album, you can tell by the interviews. This was a lot longer than I expected lol, and sorry for the lack of paragraphs, I'm typing from my phone. Anyway I'm a huge CP fan and I supprt anything and everything they do and I believe they made a wise choice creatin music that they knew they would love without worrying what critics would say.. What other band can just make up words, ideas, symbols, characters, etc.. And make it all fit?? I'm just rambling now so.. MX > VLV

Mylo Xyloto / Hurts Like Heaven (Live)
Now were that on the topic of HLH live, who agrees with me that during the song when the "No, we wooonnt let 'em take controlll" comes on the fans should sing that part??..everytime I hear the live version of this song I imagine it would sound amazing if Chris somehow gave the crowd the cue to sing with the lyrics printed on the screens.. just imagine it..

Hurts Like Heaven 5th MX Single
I do hear those effects very faintly from the album..but you can clearly hear it during the live shows
