ALERT! Coldplay is going to take the stage soon!!!!!!!!! They cancelled both openers.

We're back in business now! Stands are filling back up. [emoji106] (It's brighter in the stadium than the picture shows.)

An usher just said in 15 more minutes they'll let everyone go back to their seats.

Oops false alarm, they just announced going back to the shelter areas. Maybe because it's still lightening.

In my little area by the bathroom it's not too bad. We figured that was a good place to stand if it turned into a tornado, or if one of us had to pee. Lol They're letting people back to their seats! Bringing paper towels with us to dry off our seats.

No I haven't heard anymore announcements since they evac'd the stands. Rainy Day..... [emoji53]

The stadium stands are evacuated right now. They moved everyone to covered areas by the concession stands. Hope this blows over and doesn't come back. Maybe they'll skip Foxes part of the opening sets and not delay the rest of the show?

I'll find out in a few hours! :-) EDIT....I realized after posting this that I don't know what the Latin American bands were like to compare them with the US bands. If yours were all white with no writing on them except for the tiny embossed word "Xyloband" on a plastic tab on the band, and they glowed in different colors throughout the show, then yes, they must be like the Latin American ones. Still not sure if the programming is the same though.

I got a reply to my question about the MX tour xylobands working on the AHFOD tour (they do not), but I'm still bringing mine just for fun. As far as them working from one show to the next on this tour, I would think they should work, at least during the same leg of the tour. I understand that in Europe, the bands were different colors and say Coldplay on them. Someone who attended one of the NY/NJ shows mentioned the bands are all white now and don't say Coldplay anymore. Since the appearance of them changed, there's a chance the technology and programming might be different too. No idea for sure, but that's my guess.

Does anyone know if the old xylobands from the MX tour are lighting up during the AHFOD shows? I have a couple from that tour that I'd like to wear this weekend at the Chicago shows. I wonder if they'll glow along with the new ones, or just be really cool bracelets.

It looks like Sunday will be hot, but it shouldn't rain during the concert. The Saturday show might get hit with rain or a storm at the end. Then overnight between both days looks bad, maybe into Sunday morning. Good thing for reserved seats so we don't have to camp out hours ahead of time to get a good spot in general admission like they have to do in Europe.

No, I never read it, but I remembered the story about it from years ago. Don't feel bad that you hadn't heard it yourself. I live near Chicago (southwestern Michigan actually) where this book got really famous because of the Oprah Winfrey show that was based in Chicago, so I heard a lot of news about it at the time. Yesterday I was scrolling through new forum posts and happened to catch the book title in your posting and it sounded familiar. I did some Google searches to make sure it's what I remembered, and unfortunately it was. [emoji53] If you like interesting memoirs, I highly recommend "Brain on Fire" by Susannah Cahalan. It's not about drug addiction or rehab, but it's a fascinating true account of this woman's experience with a medical condition that caused her to go mad for a period of time and almost killed her. She had a long recovery as well, and her courage to keep fighting, and then to write about afterwards, is inspiring. It's one of the best books I've ever read. I feel so terrible doing this, because I hate to ruin any of your reading enjoyment of this book, but I think you should know that the author eventually admitted to embellishing, even falsifying, a lot of the details in this book. I believe the book got reclassified from memoir to fiction after the scandal broke. I hope you keep reading it, and continue to enjoy it as a "partially" true story of his road to recovery. It looks like the rain and thunderstorms are predicted for late Saturday (starting 10-11pm) to Sunday morning, so hopefully if they happen at all, it'll be over night between both concerts. I know they won't cancel it just for rain.
