LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
The Amazing Day clip is beautiful, it doesn't seem overproduced. Of course, that only includes part of the epic sing-along bridge, so I'd like to hear everything else. Colour Spectrum sounds... beyond amazing. Even though Brian Eno only appears as a guest vocalist on Up&Up, I hear his influence all over this little snippet. This may be the most "Indian" track on the whole album. Too bad the other songs might not have much more of that influence. The Up&Up snippet features one of the two guitar solos (which of course sounds amazing to me) as well as just a tiny bit of the "choir." Overall it is pretty solid. The only snippet that I flat-out dislike is Hymn For the Weekend, but otherwise I'm even more excited to hear the full record in a little over a week's time!

Army of One
Not a bad snippet by any means. It sounds a little darker than some of the other clips so maybe there will still be a Viva-ish lyrical theme.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Not bad! This is more of the kind of experimental sound that I was wanting on the album. It's not my favorite snippet but it is interesting. I really hope Colour Spectrum is acoustic... or at least more stripped down.

Hymn for the Weekend
I may be an odd mix of Oldplayer and defender of some of Coldplay's new direction, but this is pretty awful. I had to use the Everglow snippet to cleanse my ears after that disappointing HFTW snippet. ;) :p Seriously, I am enjoying everything but this. I always hoped Coldplay would never go this far, but boy was I wrong! I expected to hear Coldplay, but all I hear is Stargate with Chris and Beyonce singing. The only good thing I have to say about the snippet is that it's still better than the entirety of its inspiration, Turn Down For What. I hope and pray that the rest of the song is a little less... generic. So far, it lacks the kind of uniqueness and Coldplay charm that even Princess of China has. If someone likes this snippet, I am not going to judge them for it, but I am still very disappointed by it.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
AHFOD teaser: it appears that the studio version has a bit more electronic elements, but I'm enjoying it. I just realized that Jonny's bridge part sounds like that of Major Minus. Birds: solid, sounds better than I expected. I think I hear some Radiohead inspiration there. Hymn For the Weekend: Ugh... :( I'm liking everything but this, the snippet is the worst few seconds of Coldplay I have ever heard. Complete lack of originality. I thought I didn't like some of GS, but this... lacks all heart and soul. I hope and pray that this is the worst part of the entire song. Everglow: Much more beautiful and melodic. There's a lot of emotion here and it has that classic soulful Coldplay ballad sound. AOAL: Just the same old AOAL, continuing to grow on me. :) Fun: Listen to that guitar tone, much darker and almost X&Y-ish for me. Kaleidoscope: I hear a line from The Guest House, with some calm piano in the background. Who says an interlude can only be a short little instrumental piece? This sounds very pretty.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Let's see, off the top of my head these are the songs with prominent "Ohhhs," "Ooohs," and "Whooos" in at least part of the song. I may have missed some, but note that most come from Viva-present. Politik The Scientist Crests of Waves What If X&Y Life In Technicolor Life In Technicolor ii Lost! Viva La Vida The Escapist Rainy Day Hurts Like Heaven Paradise Charlie Brown Major Minus U.F.O. LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I think the main reason why people criticize them is that they are used so often in the band's newer music. I don't really dislike them, but it is undeniable that they have become part of the Coldplay formula. In other words, they are to be expected.

ELIMINATION #π: UNRELEASED SONGS
So Sad Actually, I think it's probably more the "high" of the upcoming release, combined with the Tidal gig, that is distracting people from voting. For me, there are a couple of songs that I do not know, but overall I am familiar with almost all of them.

[2015-11-23] Chris Martin interview on Entertainment Weekly
And yes, sometimes I do believe Chris has lost it. :D Just kidding.

[2015-11-23] Chris Martin interview on Entertainment Weekly
That's a great little interview, I love these little glimpses into Chris and the band's, ahem, head full of dreams. :D If I see one more article that says AHFOD is Coldplay's final album, even after plenty of clarification (like in this interview), I'm seriously going to lose it. Call me crazy, but I actually want to hear one of those songs Chris has written for Rihanna. Maybe they would give her music a little more flavor and I actually might not dislike it as much. :wink2:

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I agree with everything above, except I would like to add that the "ooohhh ohhh" and "woo hooo" chants do add to the atmosphere even though they are pretty cliche. ;) I like what I am hearing so far, and even though all of it (except maybe Up&Up) is not quite Oldplay quality for me, I like it far better than a lot of MX and GS. My expectations for the rest of the album have been raised a bit high, though, so I'm probably not going to listen to any newly debuted songs until the full album comes out. I don't want to disappoint myself too much if I end up disliking the other 8 tracks.

***HIGH UP ABOVE OR DOWN BELOW - A Coldplay Project By I Ran Away***
Aww, well I will still be eagerly looking forward to this project's release! Several of my favorite albums, including AROBTTH and X&Y, were delayed and ended up being amazing so don't worry about it. :wink2: High Up Above Or Down Below will get here when it gets here. :)

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Oh good, I just assumed that 3:24 was the length of the entire track. Thank you for clarifying that. ;)

Army of One
Hmm, we all thought X Marks the Spot appears after Up&Up. This would mean that Army of One on its own is very short...

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
The outro (which might not be in the studio version) sounds like the live version of Life Is For Living. There are a bit of electronic drums but, like in Miracles, they don't take up the whole song. I hear a bit of Atlas in Jonny's guitar playing in the verses, and there is a big sing-along chorus reminiscent of the outro of Everything's Not Lost. Overall, for whatever reason, I'm getting a bit of a Swallowed In the Sea vibe from it.

Up&Up
The weekend of the Glastonbury festival is in the middle of a significant gap between tour dates so I think they are probably already scheduled to headline. :) It just hasn't yet been "officially" confirmed by the organizers, so it doesn't yet appear on the tour schedule.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Oh, that's right. I forgot that iTunes already shows the track length for Everglow.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Whatever it is, I doubt it will be a proper single. I can't see Coldplay releasing two singles in the space of just a few weeks.
-
LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I think the album will miss out on the number one spot because of the amount of high-profile releases around the same time. Adele's new album will likely hold the number one spot when AHFOD comes out and it's going to be tough to match that success.

A Rush Of Blood To The Head Pt. 2
Meh, I like your optimism but I won't start trying to directly compare AHFOD with AROBTTH for a very long time. AROBTTH is timeless. Whether or not AHFOD will also be timeless remains to be seen.
-
LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Even with Beyonce and Tove Lo, I still don't think AHFOD stands much of a chance against 25 and Made In the A.M. Oh well, at least they aren't delaying the album just to go number 1.

Hello Everybody!
Oh, one more thing: I love the Ariana Grande collaboration too! Too bad she isn't on the new album. :crying:

Hello Everybody!
Hello, musically adventurous new member! Yeah, I wonder if Tove Lo sounds even better on the new album than Rihanna did! :D And who the hell is this Noel Gallagher guy? Is he related to the guy who sings that song Wonderwall that my dad always listens to? If so, eww, gross. I'm glad Chris Martin doesn't sing such old people music like that anymore! By the way, I have a question: what's the name of the guy with brown hair in Chris' band who plays guitar? He sounds so good when they sing Paradise!!!
