  3. It sounds like a surreal dream or the beginnings of a corny joke: Portuguese-Canadian singer Nelly Furtado, hip-hop producer Timbaland and Coldplay main man Chris Martin walk into a studio in the middle of the night. They jam together for hours, Martin provides some comic relief with a James Brown impression, and by the time dawn breaks they've finished an amazing new song. But sometimes the strangest of bedfellows can make for great musical collaborations, and fans of both urban beats and English wisp rock can hear the results of the unlikely trio's session later this month when Furtado releases her new studio album, Loose. Now, the Furtado/Timbaland union is old news…

Hi everybody. I'm not sure if anyone remembers but way back in December/January, I put out some designs for some lyrical graphic t-shirts, then it got too difficult to control when not everybody responded to my messages. Anyways, I was just looking at the designs again and wanted to give it another go. This time I'll be in college so I can run shop from my dorm and off my own computer with a much better brand of photoshop. Also, instead of doing everything by way of personal messaging, I would do email. I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before. Here are some designs that people were most interested. The deal is, I need at least 6 people interested with one design…

  7. Google launched a new Labs project called Music Trends. The site shows popular songs based on Google Talk data (aggregated from the US, for now – note that Google Talk has been updated to ask for permission to send your data). Google on their help page says: When Google Talk users opt in to Music Trends, we’ll capture information about the music they’re listening to from their music player. We then anonymize the information and add each musical vote to our Music Trends page. The more users that are opted in, and the more music they listen to, the more accurately the Music Trends page will reflect the world’s musical tastes. You can select different charts based on m…

Music Max (Australians will know what I'm talking about) just had an sms poll going asking who is the guy you'd most want to kiss out of Chris Martin, Lenny Kravitz, Robbie Williams and Justin Timberlake. The point was that the show is the top 50 guys you'd most want to kiss and this sms thing worked out the top 4. When I turned over, Chris Martin, Lenny Kravitz and Justin Timberlake were all equal and Robbie Williams was way out in front. That is, until I got there lol. I messaged like crazy, not even realising the reason for the poll....by the end of it I got Chris almost up to Robbie but just missed out. But he hammered Lenny and Justin. So he was number 2 of 50. If I'…

Hi I am new to the site so I am sorry if this thread has already been started. Everyone I talk to seems to think that The Hardest Part was a strange choice to release as a single. I have to admit that when I first heard it was goingt to be the 4th single I was slightly surprised. But when I saw the vedio it just all seemed to make sense. I really like the song. What do you think?

U2 is Terrible I saw U2 in Toronto the same year as Coldplay. U2 was simply terrible, not only did they NOT play some of their best songs (Still Haven't Found...) but Bono refused to shut the hell up. Kept talking about poverty meanwhile hes charging 100 bucks for the worst seats in the house. Granted, he has done a lot of humanitarian work, but i went to the concert to hear him sing and the guy wouldnt stop talking, Ridiculous. Coldplay were filiming a DVD when i saw them in TO and they barely spoke, for Coldplay it's always been about the music and thats what I love. I HATE when people compare Coldplay to U2 because they are totally different and apart from Square One, …

  16. Started by a few words,

Yeah, I said it. I hate Coldplay. It seems like all the hip music people and the non-hip alike love this group that I absolutely despise beyond any words. To give some perspective, I resolved to not care about music I didn't like years ago. Sort of a live and let live philosophy. To each his own. Hell, I made my peace with rap. I still don't like it, but I allow it an artform status. But Coldplay has broken me. Every day, I hear that cracking nasal voice at least three to four times on a station in Atlanta that I otherwise like. It reeks with a pompous additude of martyred-by-angsty-sadness that makes my skin crawl. A while ago, the station kept proclaiming them t…

  17. Aside from a couple of records released by veteran acts achieving late-career creative peaks, most of the best albums of 2005 were made by newer faces. Many of these artists and bands released first, second or third albums last year, bringing freshness to the airwaves, bodies to the dance floor and real vitality to various strains of rock, pop, rap and soul. 8. Coldplay, “X & Y” (Capitol) “X & Y” found Coldplay showing real progress in 2005. The album is anthemic and atmospheric in equal parts, recalling the early work of U2 and Echo & the Bunnymen. 1. Antony and the Johnsons, “I am a Bird Now” (Secretly Canadian) New York-based cabaret singer …

I'm sorry if their is already a thread like this somewhere but I couldn't be stuffed finding it. See if you can make a short story incorperating as many Coldplay song titles as you can. Have fun!! :) Example: I wish I was in my place but its hard to move when you're all yellow. If only I was bigger stronger and had green eyes than I would know that you are the one I love. I am always in such a rush when spies send me a message telling me to go to Amsterdam. They say they are harmless but still I must be careful where I stand. The hardest part of all this trouble is not being able to see you soon. All I want to do is talk to my brothers & sisters. As long as i re…

I was a at local record store and found a copy of a CD which looks exactly like AROBTTH but says "interview CD" I picked it up and turns out it is a CD capitol put out (with a nice booklet and everything) which has clips of interviews with the entire band. The really funny part is that in the booklet they have suggested wording for questions you can ask (as a radio DJ I would think) and then play the track as if you are really interviewing Coldplay in the studio. Capitol must have sent these out to radio stations. It would be funny to hear such an "interview" knowing the DJ was just making it up and was alone, playing CD tracks in the studio. Anyways, I got a ki…
