I just read an article about an 18-year old girl shot by the police because the officers felt "threatened" by her whielding a knife. It's a quite controversal, strange case and a very, very sad story which you can read here: http://www.hbindependent.com/articles/2006/09/07/publicsafety/hbi-shooting07.txt However, the article features this paragraph: MacDonald's mother Lisa Marie Guy bent down to kiss her one last time before taking her seat. It was half-way through the service while listening to Coldplay's song "Yellow" that Guy broke down, shaking her head several times. I know that it's a sad thing to think about, but what do you think about having a Coldpla…

  2. Well now you can!!! The Sunday Telegraph have done an article about their house, with some photos :) They are really doing the whole celeb-spread thing! It's a bit like something from Hello magazine! Was really surprised to read it as the band are usually so protective of their private lives... The house looks pretty amazing - all very rock n' roll cool with lots of expensive art.. Only problem is no photos of Guy - only Joanna, so sorry Guy fans! Sorry these are so big but it's the best I could do...

Have Coldplay released or performed any Ramones covers? The raw sound would really suit Coldplays music and lyrics. When practicing in Hollywood Bowl on the Rush of blood DVD Tour Diary, you get what I mean?

My friend recently had a kid and named him after her fave footballer, so I was wondering, would you name your kids after members of coldplay? I'd probably have them as middle name.

  13. A SENIOR civil servant and his fiancée have complained about MCD, the concert promoter, to the Equality Tribunal after the company’s security staff allegedly accused them of being drug dealers. Shane McCarrick, an executive officer in the Department of Agriculture, suffers from Crohn’s disease, a condition that requires him to take steroid tablets at three-hour intervals. His fiancée has type one diabetes and requires regular injections of insulin and carbohydrates in the form of fruit drinks. The couple say that at the entrance to an REM concert in Balbriggan in June 2005, MCD security staff emptied McCarrick’s bag of drinks and medication on the ground and said t…

  14. i've read somewhere it will be on the LP4, though don't remember where. maybe it was a rumor without any sources, but i like the thought. simply because it's the best song of the X&Y era. and if you think a bit the re-release isn't impossible. HYSTW was released on the Warhild album and there was an example that a band re-released a song after one of the Warchild albums. Radiohead's Lucky first was released on the Warchild album, an year after it made the OK Computer track list also the song would fit Coldplay's possible darker direction and more serious lyrics on the next studio album any thoughts?

Scottish singer Sandi Thom used to serve Coldplay their lunch during the sessions for the band's hit album A Rush Of Blood To The Head. The 25-year-old, who recently had a number one hit in the UK with I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker, was working as a dinner lady in the canteen in Parr Street Studios in Liverpool, England at the time. She says, "I've always been a big fan so I was pretty starstruck when I saw them. "I was shaking really badly when I was serving the food. I was so worried about spilling something over Chris (Martin). "I didn't even ask for advice." http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/thom%20served%20coldplays%20lunch_1006809

  21. Hi everyone, Back in the day when I was overzealous in purchasing magazines, I ended up with a couple of extras and given that I'm moving soon, I was wondering if anyone was interested in taking these off my hands. It is the September 2002 issue is from Chart Attack magazine with a great 3-4 page interview with the band with some great exclusive pictures. It's a rare edition only available in Canada and in mint condition. Please post here or PM me if you're interested as I need to make room! Thanks and long live Coldplay! -Cricket

Well, I don't know about all of you, but, personally, I have never heard a Coldplay b-side anywhere, except on my own computer. I'll hear some popular Coldplay songs here and there on the radio, Yellow, Talk, etc., but never anything beyond that anywhere. A b-side, like The World Turned Upside Down, or Things I Don't Understand? Yeah. Right. However... Yesterday, in a store in Delaware (Bass Outlet, or something), I heard them playing a favorite b-side of mine, Sleeping Sun. Where did that come from!? I don't suppose any of you have heard any b-sides anywhere?

  24. The pressures of performing live for solo artist Jamelia has proved far too much. The singer who was performing tracks from her new album at the AOL Sessions forgot her lyrics nine times – and those were from her old songs. The singer, who hasn't performed live in two years, was playing at London venue The Hospital. The gig started well but soon went pear-shaped when she came to perform, Beware of the Dog. The singer had to stop in the middle after forgetting the lyrics. She gave the song a second shot and succeeded but stumbled again when she came to do her cover of Coldplay's Clocks. She retried that song six times, then moved on to another, which she also faile…
