Hint:  I've been doing quite a bit of research over the past year or so, some of which I'd like to share. This may not be breaking news in the usual sense, but to some people out there, it will be. The vast majority of people are still waiting around for the big pharmaceutical companies to come up with that long awaited cancer-killing drug (and turning to risky chemotherapy 'treatments' in the mean time), when there is a vast amount of research showing that most cancers can be effectively eradicated through safe and natural means. In this thread I'm going to write up a list of a number of cancer-fighting substances that I am aware of, all supported by scient…

:)I'M HOPING FOR LOTS OF PEOPLE TO VOTE ON THIS ONE SO PLEASE DO:) The event's of 9/11/2001 were a self inflicted wound, an inside job by the government which was used to rally public support for a "war against terror" in middle eastern sovereign nations?? ....or do you believe to the "official" report as claimed by the Bush administration? I am not someone who believes in the Yeti, Bigfoot, Aliens and similar tales - you've got the wrong guy for that. Such legends & tales are used by certain people to set up 'Straw Man' arguments because they really can't fight against this on the facts, dispite what they will say. This 9/11 stuff is very important....we'v…

Just thought I'd start this as there seems to be no official cricket thread on here apart from the Ashes and World Cup ones from earlier this year. Just seen England obliterate Sri Lanka bowling them all out in just over two hours for 82 on the last day of the 1st test - delayed by rain yet again. Sri Lanka started the 2nd innings 96 runs behind England's 1st innings total of 496 when everyone was expecting them to bat out the test for a pointless and bore draw! But England had other ideas! Brilliant test match. That's why I prefer test cricket over the shorter forms of the game. When it's bad it's bad but when it's good it is amazing! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1…

Celebrities like former football champ and current 'Live' host Michael Strahan (c.) and weight loss spokesman Jared Fogle (r.) have helped promote Subway's "Eat Fresh" message, but many of its sandwiches have higher calorie counts than rival chain McDonald's. Bad news, Subway fans: Your $5 footlong may be LESS healthy than a McDonald’s Big Mac Subway has earned a 'health halo' in the eyes of consumers, thanks to its line of lower-calorie sandwiches. But there are plenty of calorie-laden options on its menu — and that's what many people order, judging from the results of a new UCLA study Does Jared know about this? Jimmy Savile: Why did nobody stop him? The Jimmy Savile child sex abuse inquiry was expanding last night into a wider scandal enveloping the public sector as new witnesses came forward to claim that the late presenter molested children at hospitals with the apparent knowledge of staff. An MP demanded an independent inquiry as fresh allegations about Savile raised questions for three hospitals, the BBC, the Crown Prosecution Service and the police about the extent of their knowledge of historic child sex abuse claims. The three hospitals – Stoke Mandeville, Leeds General Infirmary, and Broadmoor – all said that they had not received complaints about Savile until afte…

A 'red wine' pill that means we can live to 150 years old, a blood test for Alzheimer's and the taboo around ageing Humans could live to 150, as scientists develop new drugs to combat ageing which could be made available within five years, the Daily Mail reports. The new drugs are synthetic versions of resveratrol, found in red wine and believed to have an anti-ageing effect. Research has shown that a single anti-ageing enzyme in the body can be targeted, with the potential to prevent age-related diseases and extend the years of life. Genetics professor David Sinclair, based at Harvard University, said: ‘Ultimately, these drugs would treat one disease, but unlike dr…

I'm not sure where this fits in, so help me out please! A great many crises afflict humanity, not all are from natural disasters, but rather from conditions of poverty, prolonged drought, or population displacement from wars, so I thought it would be good to have a thread for discussion about these issues. Palestinian refugees from Syria have fled into Lebanon escaping the conflict, and they need help! http://www.google.com/url?q=http%3A%2F%2Fanera.convio.net%2Fsite%2FR%3Fi%3DZuULEqI2JEtJZo0VfvnWqg&sa=D&sntz=1&usg=AFQjCNEAO8MNe5UWWvBe17ZKPojWlfTDdA

The Falkland Islands has a population of around 3,000 people UK prime minister rebuffs Argentina over Falklands Downing Street has strongly rebuffed a call by Argentina's president for the UK to return the Falkland Islands. Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner had urged UK Prime Minister David Cameron to abide by a 1965 UN resolution to "negotiate a solution" to the dispute. But a spokesman for Mr Cameron said the people of the Falklands had shown "a clear desire to remain British" and their interests would be protected. A referendum on the islands' political status is to be held in March. In an open letter to Mr Cameron, published as an advert in the Guardian…
