That said, I nearly had an anneurism when I read the words "PIXIES RULE" scribbled on the bass drum. It should go without saying that the bands that pass for punk on MTV are little more than a commercial conquest of what used to be a subversive genre/subculture. You can't beat the real thing...

'bout AVRIL ...don't get them bitchin' about her again! I just wanna say...being a punk myself in the 70's...that punk serveda purpose and was a reaction to all the prog rock and hippy-shit that had dominated the music scene for too long! Listen to some proper old stuff..not just the Pistols but The Clash, Undertones, U.K Subs, Siouxsie and the Banshee's, The Ramones, Xray-specs, Crass...to name but a few...oh and The Damned...FAB!
