That's nice! Ok, some basic expressions:

Hi - Oi

How are you? - Tudo bem?

Good Morning - Bom Dia

Good Afternoon - Boa Tarde

Good Night - Boa Noite

What's your name? - Como você se chama?

Nice to meet you! - Prazer em conhecê - lo (man) Prazer em conhecê - la (woman)

Check this video and try to repeat what the guy says :nice:

Thanks! This is nice, but it moves a little too quickly! I definitely see similarities between Portuguese and Spanish, but it's a lot different than I expected. The pronunciation of some words is crazy.

I'm downloading Rosetta Stone now. I'll let you know when I have questions. :)

Yes, it moves too quickly :( Anyways, let me know if you have any question ok? And btw, why do you want to learn Portuguese?

Because Brazilian people are sweet of course! It seems like a really cool place to me. I'd love to spend some time there, or maybe even live there one day.

Good then :nice: I'm actually from Minas Gerais state, known for its historical cities. I wish I was from Bahia  For me it's the most wonderful part of Brazil.

I was just reading about Minas Gerais last night! It still looks like a nice place to me...

You're right about Bahia...wow. These pictures on wikipedia are incredible.
