Cool, okay. :) I hope my post didn't come across as an angry one, but I am a bit touchy when it comes to this topic. :lol: Now I only wish I was old enough to witness MTV's desperate attempts to make English sound 'local'. I've heard that people in Spain, let's say, spoke in English with a heavy Spanish accent. :D

 

we've been told that, and my teacthers had worked hard to avoid that, for my experience in Portugal i've been told that my accent is pretty good and sounds so english. :)

but i can also tell you that there were many spanish students that didn't spoke english at all. (even after 9 months in Portugal they weren't able to speak portuguese :dozey: )

so i think we may be have spanish accent but at least some of us try to learn other languages well. ;)

 

but generally tv pronounces english bad here (for names, film titles, and song titles or bands :( which is a bad example for people).

i think that another reason for that is that here tv series or films at cinema are dubbed, (translated with spanish voices).

in Portugal people had better english because they can practice it, as films and series are translated (text) but the voice was in english so you can improve the language better.

yes, of course. but when they speak english sometimes you can tell if it's a German accent, or Italian. but some are harder to tell. :)
