One of the things i talk about to other musicians before making music with them is the power of simplicity. I love many, many bands and for many different reasons. The main reason i love Coldplay is their ability to be stupidly and un-apologetically simple. More so the older Coldplay but still...

 

I tend to point towards the chorus of 'Clocks'

 

The lyrics being "You are..."

 

 

Bands get lost in complexity. Empires fall and relationships crumble because of it. But, keep it simple and people know you're being honest. And honesty will get you far.
