I didn't know it was on sale here today. New albums never go on sale on Monday. I thought I was looking at the Christmas cds but noticed, hey, that is a dancer, hey that is Kanye! Got the deluxe edition.

 

New Albums are Tuesday there right? Australia is so lucky we get them on Fridays.

if it wasnt for the last 3mins of Blame Game and some aspects of All of the Lights this album would be a masterpiece. but those 2 things hurt its credentials.

After 20 reviews, he's at 98 on metacritic. Some of the words used to describe MBDTF are just incredible.

I'm really curious about this album, I'll get it soon.

If you told me in January I would have been so excited for Kanye's album and bought it on the day of release I would laugh at you and throw monkey poop.

he is on 97/100 after 26 reviews on metacritic. im pretty certain that he will remain over 90 after 40 or 50 reviews. which is an incredible achievement.

ahh the deluxe edition doesn't come out here until next week. Good thing I've already downloaded it :uhoh:

Late Registration is a good start and is still my favourite album of his (i think i put it 5th on my decade list). although Graduation is his most accessible work but i would say College Dropout defines his style and its the style he has returned to on MBDTF. 808s is not essential listening but it's much better than people say it is.

I think My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy might end up being my favourite Hip-Hop record of all time.

It's the only Hip Hop record I've ever really got into. I still need to hear Illmatic by NAS which is supposedly the best Hip Hop record ever...

Jay-z's Black Album and Blueprint 1 are both incredible. his Reasonable Doubt is also fairly highly regarded. Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor is another album i really love.

 

hip hop may not be our favourite genre but that doesnt mean there arent a few gems out there.

I'm completely fine with Hip Hop. I just find them a lot harder to get into than rock albums.

It's the only Hip Hop record I've ever really got into.ever...

 

Yeah, same. That and Plastic Beach. I like a few of Kanye's older records as well but i have never listened to them that closely.
