WHOS GOING TO THE MELB GIG TONIGHT?

WOW! has been a while since i've ventured these forums.

I'm headed to the Melbourne show Twisted Logic Tour TONIGHT! i'm so excited!

I saw them last time they came out & I'm thinking this time will be even better due to the fact the music is more stadium suited, plus i know now to expect people standing up, last time i just couldn't get my hand around it. I've been to a pile of concerts that were much more, how to say, arr, stand & Clap material & i couldn't understand why people wouldn't wana sit back and chill & observe the atmospheric ambient and soundscape music - But never feer i'm all set for it this time, no hard feelings!!

ANYWAYS - WHOS GOING TONIGHT? Is it true Youth Group are supporting?

So does anyone know what time I should arrive at the Adelaide concert if it starts at 7 and I want to be in the front row on the floor???

well the sydney concert, we were in the like 2nd-3rd row, and we were in the line at around 5:30 i think? and the doors opened at around 6:15 or something? or maybe i'm just making that up... lol.

since you're going all the way to adelaide, i'd say go around 4 pm? or maybe earlier? an hour will really make a difference, and if you're going all the way to adelaide, you may as well go as early as you can.

yeah, youth group are supporting. (I don't think they would suddenly change to another band.) they are really good. Nice start to the concert.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to Adelaide on Tuesday for the Wednesday show so I'll figure it out when I'm down there what time to start waiting. Thanks for the info it helps heaps. :)

Youth Group are supporting all Australian concerts

I'm home from Melbourne day two. I'll be there tomorrow too. This was my second Coldplay concert after Bolton (England) a year ago. It wasn't as good in terms of atmosphere and all (Rod Laver Arena is toooooo cramped, I was in the huge Reebok Stadium last year), but the setlist was incredible. What If, Trouble, How You See The World, Can't Get You Out Of My Head (Glasto 2005 Kylie cover revisited)... does it get any better (okay, I missed Everything's Not Lost, which is usually played, and Spies, which is never played)? Crowd was a little restrained, but possibly because many people over 30 seemed to be there and because there isn't much room to move in Rod Laver. More got on their feet towards the end.

By the way, anyone attending the Melbourne concerts - I saw lots of people with cameras there. Are they allowed? If so, I'll take mine and take some photos from my "gold" seat tomorrow.

Edit: Youth Group were decent, but you could tell fans wanted Coldplay on... that is until "Forever Young" played, which got a Coldplay level reaction. By the way, when "How You See The World" played, there was an almost embarrassing silence... few people seemed to know what it was, but got into it as the song progressed.

Wow. How lucky, what songs did they replace then if they played How You See The World, Cant Get You Out Of My Head and What If?

Everything's Not Lost, Swallowed in the Sea, and Don't Panic

but the setlist was incredible. What If' date=' Trouble, How You See The World, Can't Get You Out Of My Head (Glasto 2005 Kylie cover revisited)... [/quote']

They played Cant Get You Out of My Head again!?!?!?!? :shocked3:

Wow!!!! :stunned:

BTW, Chris ran into the crowd during Everything's Not Lost. I thought he was heading my way, but he kind of stopped.

^They played Everything's Not Lost too!?!??!?! :shocked3:

You guys got awesome set lists by the sound of it !

Errr, sorry, I meant "In My Place", not ENL... ENL isn't the sort of song he runs around the crowd in. :D

 I was gonna say, WOW! That must the the 1st time they've played it this tour! :laugh4:

No worries ;)

lol, thats what I was thinking too. ^_^

Sounds like such a cool night! With them performing Cant Get You Out Of My Head!

Just want to ask again, if no one knows, I might risk it anyway--

Are they letting cameras into the concert? I saw some people with some and thousands with phone cameras, but I don't know if the real cameras were sneaked in. There is a sign in the Rod Laver that says cameras are allowed, but Coldplay could ban them individually. I'd love to take some shots, I think I have a better seat tonight.

sneak it in. i did. they didn't say anything on my night at sydney, but the night before, they said "no cameras allowed. if you wanna go home early, take in your cameras." or something like that, that's what my friend told me.

but yeah just sneak it in somewhere. they didn't check any of our bags or anything, but it's possible.

tickets

hey lol im from the US but my cousins in australia tried to get tickets but they were sold out!!! did u guys manage too!?

aww that's a shame! i got tickets for the sydney concert and i went, to the second night. :nice:

I got tickets to their 2nd concert in Brisbane! But thats a shame that you couldn't get any! :(

About the cameras - if the sign says you can take them in, but the band can choose differently - take it in. Coldplay take photos with cameras... I think its pretty safe. ;) but good luck and have fun.

I'm going tonight - bought my ticket way back in Sept last year.

I too would like to know if I can sneak a camera in?

SO looking forward to this.

i'm not sure about melbourne, but i was able to in sydney. they didn't check bags or anything, and they didn't even say anything, although they did warn them the night before. everyone brought in cameras. so yeah, just find somewhere to sneak it in. have fun!

I didn't take a camera on the first night because I was scared, then I got in there and on the floor all I could see were phone screens videoing and taking pictures and there were flashes coming from all around the stadium. So I took my camera to the second show for sure. Now I'm worrying about Adelaide. They might be more strict there and I dont want to get kicked out after travelling all that way lol but I'm gonna be right at the front so I want some pics. I spose I could just settle for my phone but the pics wont be as good most likely.

I realised the other day that there is a little pocket on my bag which can fit the camera in. You don't know the pocket is there, because its on the back and facing your body. AND the sercurity didn't check the pocket. God, I feel so annoyed that I didn't put the camera in there.
