AUSSIE FANS - COLDPLAY concert (has come) or is coming!

Featured Replies

I've got more photos if anyone's interested. The concerts were just amazing. I'd go to every one in Australia and overseas if I could afford it.

ooooo more photos please! My god, you lucky lucky person. I wish I stayed behind now!

Went last night. Regardless of the fact that I was in the second last row of the entertainment centre it was still fucking brilliant. I took my best friend who goes to alot of gigs and festivals and he was flabbergasted. He said the light show was amazing and that Chris Martin has the most amazing stage presence he has ever seen (along with the guy from the Flaming Lips). It was good to hear that from a neutral perspective because I expected all that so it was nice to know that they really are as good as I thought. I'm going again tomorrow and have wayyyyyyyy better seats. Hopefully Chris Martin climbs into the audience in the same spot as he did last night because I'll be one row back and across the aisle from him, my aim of the night is to touch him.

lol, I hope you do then! Have fun tonight, just read a review from last night's one. Sounds very cool! Very jealous (even though I went on Sunday... I just wanna go again)

Hi' date=' I went to 23rd and 24th concert in Brisbane and met Chris after the last concert. He was really nice. And Hot. I've already posted them on another tread.[/quote']

amazing! how long did you have to wait and how did you know which way they were coming out!!????!!!

would be great to know, and well done on your good fortune ;)

It's going to be quite depressing after the show tonight. Knowing that after 10 months or so of waiting it is all over. But if I get to touch or even be near Chris Martin then that will be soooo good. I just have to find my camera cause I want a pic when he runs up in front of the section I'll be in.

ooo yeah, you wanna take photos! I still feel angry at myself for not even trying to sneak the camera inside.

I went last night and it was the most amazing night ever. I was in the very last row, it turned out, although I was directly infront of the stage... Anyway, I loved every moment! Chris came so close! He was in the next aisle! I was blown away. He commented on the socceroos a few times as well, like he threw them into a song or an introduction. I went with two of my friends, one which loves Coldplay as much as I do and one that kind of likes the songs but isn't an actual fan. The non-fan said to me today that she wants to see another Coldplay concert because they are amazing live.

Things were expensive there... the merchandise, I mean. The blue rugby shirt that is $45 on the internet was $70 there...but I still bought it... The jacket was $120 though and I was like 'No way am I going to buy that.'

Anyway, it was absolutely excellent and in my opinion the audience got really involved so that was good.

The set list was:

*Square One

*Politik

*Yellow

*Speed Of Sound

*God Put A Smile Upon Your Face

*What If

*Don't Panic

*White Shadows

*The Scientist

*Til Kingdom Come

*Ring Of Fire

*Clocks

*Talk

--Encore--

*Swallowed In The Sea

*In My Place

*Fix You

Some things that Chris said throughout (I might not have them exactly as he said it) were:

"You make good balloons in Australia." - After struggling to pop the balloons towards the end of Yellow.

"...We f***ing hate spaghetti anyway." - Before GPASUYF... I didn't catch the beginning of what he said.

"It shouldn't have been a penalty in the first place." - Lyric change in GPASUYF.

"This is a song about if you're a British rock band and you have to play in a depressed country." - Introduction to Don't Panic.

"This song is dedicated to the nine-year-old boy outside the Bronte Surf Club on Sunday who stopped Jonny and I and kindly informed us that our music is shit. He was a cheeky little f***er but at least he's honest. I kindly informed him that his balls hadn't dropped yet and he looks like a tosser. Then the police kindly informed us that we should leave the country very soon... For the second time." - The beginning of Til Kingdom Come. They played a few strings of the guitar between each sentence before Chris interupted with more of his story..

"We still love you even though you lost the soccer." - At the fake 'end' of the concert... before the encore.

Overall... best night of my young life... too bad I was losing my voice and so I couldn't scream very loud, or at all, because my voice couldn't reach that pitch.

Went to the Sydney concert last night... my god! It was everything i expected, and so much more :D I remember seeing Chris Martin on TV a while ago in one of his earlier concerts, and he always looked a bit shy and afraid on stage. But I can safely say, he's a lot more confident now, and its so great to see him (and the rest of the band) having an absolute ball while they're performing :) The atmosphere of the stadium was beyond incredible, and they really did give us the performance of a lifetime :D

The only thing i wasnt happy about was how long they were on for... it wasnt nearly long enough! :(

I truly feel so privileged to have watched such an amazing performance :D

*runs off squeeing about the concert in her new Coldplay t-shirt* ;)

sounds like the best...i cant wait!!!

hey, could someone tell me...

if i have one of the 'gold' tickets, in the general admission 'standing up section... will i still find it wise to wait outside all day...or does that mean that my seat/square metre is already reserved for me????

thanks to all..

I nearly cried at the beginning.. I just got really overwhelmed and it was so perfect... It was an absolutely amazing night.. Next time they are in Australia I'm going to try to get much better seats and if they play two times in Sydney I want to go twice and be in Gold Seating once and Gold Floor the other... that is, of course, if they play at SEC again... It was fantastic.

Wow they are actually really good photos! So close! Sounds like a cool concert, anyone get any pics of them wearing the shirts??

EDIT: wait, nevermind. Awww they look so adorable in the Aussie shirts. Once again, cool photos! (and you got some of the lasers! they were so cool)

gold general admission means that it is unreserved. so if you want to be at the barrier, you can wait outside all day. :) hahaha. or you could just go at say 3pm or something if the doors open at 6:30 like they did for us.

you mean the aussie jerseys?

i've put a few of them up on the previous page.

i cant wait!!!! ok,

and in staying outside waiting all day, is there a slight chance i might see the guys b4 the show...like, if they came 2 check out the place, earlier in the day or something???

i'm not sure. they used to do that in before, i'm not sure if they have done that yet during the aussie concerts. i know one of the people here caught chris after the concert, at brisbane. maybe if you hang around for a while afterwards? :)

yeah, I would be guessing after the show. Look for a sign which says something like "Service vechicals only" ;)

That is so funny the lads wearing the Aussie shirts. . . . man you were all robbed. . . . . .

we weren't only robbed. we were mugged and beaten.

:disappointed:

i am so unbelievably angry.

i feel so sorry for lucas :disappointed: he has played amazing this entire tournament... and to have that happen to him, he must feel so guilty. did you see him cry at the end of the match?

but that picture you posted is sooooooo funnny. and so damn true! :laugh1:
