Blunt album tops 2005 chart

 

Singer-songwriter James Blunt's 'Back To Bedlam' was the biggest selling album of 2005, according to official figures.

 

The former soldier, who was virtually unknown this time last year, outsold returning stadium rockers Coldplay, whose third studio album 'X&Y' finished second.

 

Robbie Williams' latest LP came third , while Kaiser Chiefs and KT Tunstall finished in the top 10 with their debut albums.

WHY???? blunt, at least make the number one spot worthwhile. i would have been quite happy if it was coldplay, robbie or kaiser chiefs, but no. still, coming second only gives determination to beat the best. whats ur determination when you are the best?

maybe it sounds a bit controversial, but for me it's not important, which place in charts they have- music matters ;)

 

we all know, that Coldplay's music is not for everyone and it explains "only" second place.

for me X&Y is of course very good album, but IMHO is also most commercial of all, so i won't be disappointed, if they record 4th album, which will be in a 6th place in charts, but will be as good as Parachutes, or AROBTTH.

let Mariah Carey,James Blunt,Crazy Frog, or Westlife win all the charts- we all know that they never will be as good as CP ;)

You should be lucky that Coldplay are at least No. 2 .. In Austria, Germany and wherever, they aren't appreciated at all! It's actually a miracle that X&Y even got among the Top 10 of the Austrian LP Charts 2005.. None of their singles got into the Top 10, neither Top 20 or even Top 30 :rolleyes:
