"Love"

Featured Replies

i have only 1 regret so far in my life... my mom was the person i loved the most in this world and i never told her... on this exact day 4 years ago i lost her without telling her that (even though she knew)... that's my regret...

in my opinion, love can be measured... and i do it, probably i'm heartless but i don't love my friends, family or whoever equaly... and love with a big "L", i only feel it for my brothers and sisters... noone else

Sorry of hear about your mom! :(

You say that love can be measure,I am not thinking the same, but I respect your opinion. But I guess that you cant love all the people. There is people that you love and theres people that you do not love.

When I was younger.. I only said it to be polite. Now that I am older ( :embarrased: ) I mean it this time, probably because everyone around me is dying in the most unexpect and fast way.

well i agree with u saying that it is being thrown around these days.

i think that writing it is is very easy, saying not so much.

ive said it to more than one person, and for some reason, saying I love you (in english) is so much easier than saying it in portuguese, its like for me its more meaningful in my own language than saying it in english.

I have to admit ive said "i love u" to some ppl around here... maybe i dont really feel LOVE for the ppl ive said it, but i do feel something, and maybe in the lack of a good english word to say it, love just seems to do it...

To me, Love is a very sacred and powerful emotion. It takes up time but more importantly, energy. Loving people should be such a strong emotion that it is actually tiring to feel it, you love them on so many levels and think about them so much that it hurts.

completely agree with that reillo!!! it hurts and it hurts a loooot...

as stupid as it might look, it's even easier in brazilian portuguese (te amo) than portugal's portuguese (amo-te)...

well... i didnt mean it that way miguel...

te amo is easy... but saying it when u really mean it isnt...

i used to think saying i love u was easy, now i dont anymore because the person i love speaks english, not portuguese...

completely agree with you there reillo. i must admit i toss it around alot with my real friends, we always say in a joking mannner LOVEEE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU but we've never really said it to each other in a meaningful way.

as for family, i've never actually said i love you to any of them. if there is anyone in the world that i really love, it is my mum and dad. both my brothers too... but to me my parents first. but as i think someone said a page back, regarding family, i think love has to be shown through actions and emotions.

when we're talking about love in the relationship sense, i'd have no clue because i've never been in a relationship. but if i were to use my friends as examples, they all seem to be "in love" and "really serious" about it in their words. and then 2 weeks later they've broken up. it makes me think. if there was real LOVE in the first place, how can you chuck it away 2 weeks later? evidently it wasn't ...love. most likely lust, or something to that effect.

well... i didnt mean it that way miguel...

i know what you meant... :D , i just added a small detail, a bit stupid like i said... ;)

but it's true that in Portugal we use to say that somehow "te amo" sounds better, is kind of warm and happy... on the other side "amo-te" sounds a bit heavy and cold...

I think it's ridiculous how people know each other for 2 weeks then say 'Oh I love him/her' No you bloody don't. After the initial novelty of meeting and getting to know each other wears off, you need something else there. You cannot possibly know a person after 2 weeks. I believe love to be so complicated that it takes time to develop.

rant over :P

*Senses a nasty fight over you with Reilly*

people just watching too many romantic movies... that's the result...

Yep, people fall in love in the movies in under an hour and a half. Unfortunately it should take longer in real life. :smug:

Charlie, I love you

:freak:

Yeah, I THINK I'm falling in love right now actually, or I'm already in love, either way it's a pain in the butt :P

Not with you Reilly

I love you too!!

get fighting people! :wink3:

well, i think it is quite idiotic to use the word LOVE too often.

i only told one person that i love him ... like ... seriously ...

a load of my friends use it just when they have a crush on somebody...

that word is too hard to explain.

when you say it, you have to feel it ...

:/

^indeed!! I only say i love you to someone if I really mean it,

i dislike people who say i love you too early/soon or people who don't mean it at all!

yeah, and i also do not think that it is easy to say those words...

i mean ... i took me some time ...

and i'd never say it if i don't mean it !

i think it is quite idiotic to use the word LOVE too often

agreed.

but this lounge is full with love   am i wrong?

but this lounge is full with love :heart: am i wrong?

yeah, thats right (i say it a lot though... but not to everyone here)

but sometimes u actually really like the person, maybe u dont really LOVE the person, and i completely agree that the word is being misused (most of the times), but sometimes we just want to tell the other person u care about her... and in my opinion "like" seems to be a very weak word sometimes...

(btw, this is just about the board... in real situations i cant say it without really feeling it)

ah love ..today is love day :pleased:

*floats around in cloud*

I miss having someone to love..

I miss having someone love me... :(

it seems like love is used with friends now. and that's really loosening the meaning of the word. if a friend does something for another friend they say "ahh i love you!" but they don't mean that they want to share the rest of their lives with them and truly, truly care about them. also, it seems like with teenagers, 'love' is being used by guys to get sex from girls. "OH, HE LOVES ME, OKAY, I'LL THROW MYSELF AT THIS GUY I'VE KNOW FOR THREE SECONDS." that's basically what every teenage girl (or sometimes even guy) is saying. i mean, come on. how are you supposed to express your love anymore? this word is basically downsized to "like" now. it's...it's nothing anymore. :dozey:.

Okay, not EVERY girl has such low self-esteem that they throw themselves at a guy who says "I love you" and not EVERY guy will say that just for sex. I hate it when people lump all teens up with the few you see or hear about. We're not all the same, and some of us know what love is.
