- if he doesn't like these threads,it's ok,maybe he thinks they're too "girly"...and i have to agree,i'm not interested in Chris Martin's body or Guy Berryman's ass neither,but for me it's ok,if most of people like them here,it's a not a matter for me,i just don't post in them or very rarely...but we are still both CP fans ;)

- he is still a CP fan,even if he's criticizing them...nobody is perfect (even Coldplay not) so i think he has a right to say anything about them

he prefers to talk in the lounge,as you do it in Coldplay,he does it in the lounge...

he reviewed the x&y somewhere (don;t know where exactly,haven't been a memebr here then), compared Coldplay to Radiohead,Oasis etc. and i have to say those threads were good - i read an opinion from somebody who maybe isn't a big Coldplay fan like any of you,but still knows a lot about them :scholar: and i guess his fave Coldplay album is Parachutes:smiley:

Well there's been a lot said about me, some politely, some not so nice, and I've opened a can of worms that I have absolutely no intention of clearing up.

 

I was asked to try and make this place more interesting, and I dont like Coldplay, so the only way I could do it was stirring up trouble.

Very interesting discussion, and am quite intrigued by all sides of the argument.

 

Wasn't a huge Coldplay fan when I joined this forum in 2002, its something that's grown on me over the last 4 years. The first couple of concerts I went to were because someone needed the company. the last few i went to are because i'd be absolutely fuming if I didn't get chance to go. The first concert in Liverpool was so amazing, I've been hooked pretty much ever since.

 

I can kind of understand the girly threads, as I have noticed how good-looking some of the guys are!! There are such a huge quantity of the girly threads that this section of the board can feel quite daunting sometimes. As an admin, I have to pop in here and check that everything's ok but that's frequently the only reason I visit this bit of the board.

Sometimes its a little confusing visiting this part of the board, one the one hand you want Coldplay to come and read the board to know what die-hard fans they've got, yet on the other you post threads which in any other place could be construed as sexual harrassment. Would you really want those threads to be the impression they got of their fans? There's no reason why you shouldn't discuss all aspects of the band but some of the threads could carry on instead of starting new ones.

 

My impression of this bit of the board is that its for other Coldplay news. Ie its not live or album related but all the other stuff, eg when Chris bumps his car in rush hour traffic.

The Lounge is there because people make friends on message boards, and there they can discuss things non-Coldplay related without impinging on Coldplay space. So not everyone is prepared to throw themselves at the feet of Coldplay, it doesn't mean they have any less right to post on this board.

I don't see why we should have to prove our Coldplay love. I Fucking LOVE Coldplay and have done since the first time I heard Yellow. If I had to choose between never listening to their music again or never seeing them again, I would choose the music without a doubt.

 

Like other people have said, we keep the 'madness' to this forum which I think is where it's meant to be. Just because we like to escape from normal like and talk about the band we love with like-minded (INTELLIGENT) people, why should we feel bad? For the same reason you feel the need to still come here even though you appear to have lost all faith in the band. We all come here to escape. So please don't form this opinion of us because we talk about asses and thighs and arms and whatever. We are all fans regardless.
