I agree with you Steph....Its pretty offensive to call us all "airhead bimbo's". How the hell do you know what we're like in real life? Most of us are intelligent young women...at university, studying etc etc. We know that we'll never have "a chance" with the Coldplay guys so why do you take it so seriously? This became a photo thread about the bands members and how sexy they are which makes me try to avoid this section of the board even though i like coldplay.. I just remember back in the day this was full of articles about the band, info, meaning of songs blah blah blah, you get the idea ( and just for the record when i joined the board i didnt have idea who the fuck was guy, will or jonnny just had a clue about some guy singing named chris and that was it haha) but then again coldplay is ultra mainstreem now and pretty much like bsb so ugh :sick:

I'm a guy so have no reason to talk about, lets say Chris' sexyness, but the music talk are over at the Album and B-side sections. You are in the Coldplay section right now, where you'll find discussions about the members themselves, and about what they're doing/up to at the moment.

 

Learn what the different sections are for before ragging on people for what they write.

I agree, things move on and change but sometimes not for good. I'll just put it this way, lets say i'm a newbie, i'm a guy, love the bands to bits and just pop into this section.hmm ok, all i'd see would be a million threads about how sexy they look and such and no info at all or anything actually that matters, therefore i wouldnt post or just leave, but that's just me... I'm not saying i want things exactly the way they used to be but it'd be nice if some members posted things related to coldplay in a non-how-sexy-they-are way. And not all bands who are amazing get bigger, for example sigur rós, they are totally amazing but they're pretty much unknow by most people and for me their last album was a million times better than any coldplay album ( but that doesnt mean i dont like coldplay).

In response to being a guiltyfangirl, I assure you I filled up my hard drive with bootlegs,live gigs, Bsides, and unreleased music from Coldplay wayyyyyy before I started saving some pictures. I think the assets this band have are very very privilaged. It doesn't hurt to like them for their looks, but I know that the music is what first grabs the attention of people like me.

I was just pointing out that writing only about their physical aspects is not different from talking everyday about anything else but Coldplay (which is the lounge..or that's what I learnt it to be)...so I don't see the point of accusing people here in the Coldplay section and not all the others..it's not directed to you of course ;)

Well, as a pretty new member I have to say that those 'sexy Guy' and 'hot Chris' -posts become very irritating really fast, when you first come in to the forum. It´s hard to get it you know, when the members who have about 3,556,935 posts, know each other well and are posting stuff like that.

Sometimes it´s hard to post anything, when most of the threads are just about how hot they look, because you were expecting some real talk about the band and their music. (I´m not saying there wouldn´t be that kind of a talk at all in here, there really is, and those photo-threads are absolutely good thing btw.)

 

They DO look good, I agree with that. But some of the threads are just too crazy for them who want to focus more on the music, and just say "Chris is good-looking" or "Will is gorgeous" a few times in a month.

 

Okey maybe I´m a bit too hard. :laugh3: But I just wanted to say that the starter of this topic and Ren for example have a good points.

Most people discuss the music in the album and b side sections and live shows in the live section, that's why they are there. If Ian wants to disband those 3 sections and move all Coldplay discussions into the Coldplay section, that's fine by me, but until he does I'll stick to discussing things in their designated section. As for the hotness issue, most of the talk takes place in picture posting threads that have been here from the git go. What do you want me to say....whoa Jonny that's a lovely G cord in that pic? I'm more that likely gonna say how lovely he is. Yes it does get a bit silly in here at times, but that's just a thing that happens and then goes away. It's just people being crazy, no big deal.
