haha It's in english, thankfully. Whenever swedish newspapers translate stuff it get's really wierd. Like that time Peter said he loved Kates bones, the literally took it as bones and printed pictures of her legs :laugh3: I laughed so hard when I saw it...

I didn't even know the libertines, when I met peter. That's led to a couple of really funny situations. One time we were standing in the studio and Peter was playing this wicked guitar riff. I was enthusiastic and wanted to make it into a song straight away but he only goes: "That's (Libertines-Hit) 'Time For Heroes', don't you know that one?" (laughs)

“Troubled rock star Pete Doherty has denied starting a fight with a photographer after a concert with his band Babyshambles in Rome.

 

London’s Evening Standard newspaper reported that Doherty was involved in a brawl with an Italian photographer outside his hotel. One witness said Doherty’s head was “dripping with blood”.

 

Police were not called and Doherty was treated by fans and band members, while the photographer was said to have gone to hospital for treatment.

 

A spokesman for Doherty released a statement denying the allegations and saying the singer had been hit with a camera. “Pete Doherty totally denies that he instigated a fight with a photographer in Rome,” the statement said.

 

"Reports that the photographer might make an official complaint will certainly interest Pete’s lawyers, who can call on witnesses who clearly saw Pete being hit with a camera outside his hotel.”

 

Earlier in the night Doherty reportedly brandished a microphone stand at fans in the front row of the concert by his band Babyshambles in Rome.

 

Italian newspaper the Corriere della Sera described how Doherty, 27, clashed with fans at the famous Piper club.

 

A missile thrown from the crowd hit the band’s drummer, who was forced to leave the stage, and Doherty brandished the mike stand towards spectators in the front row. Nobody was injured. After checking on how the drummer was, Doherty himself started playing the drums, but then the injured band member returned.

 

Doherty traded insults with the crowd, then after the final number he took the mike stand and smashed up the instruments on stage, including the amplifiers, the newspaper reported.

 

Doherty had been drinking vodka on stage, broke a bottle, cut himself with a sharp object and played on with blood on his chest, it added.

INVERNESS is proving popular with former members of chart-topping act The Libertines.

 

The band's controversial frontman Pete Doherty has already signed up to appear at city music venue the Ironworks on Saturday 9th December with his new group Babyshambles.

 

Now his former bandmate Carl Barat has also confirmed an appearance at the venue with his own post-Libertines band Dirty Pretty Things for the Ironworks' Hogmanay Bash. This completes a November and December line-up of international artists which the Ironworks hails as the most impressive seen in the Highlands with such acts as Gomez, The Charlatans, Goldie Lookin' Chain and Mark Morris of The Bluetones already booked, with more added daily for the festive period.

 

Graham Forbes, managing director of Ironworks' parent company La Scala Entertainment, described the Dirty Pretty Things confirmation as great news for both the Highlands and Inverness.

 

"We are in talks with BBC Scotland about the possibility of broadcasting the gig live," he revealed.

 

"It's going to be the biggest New Year's bash the Highlands has ever seen. It's the way forward - let's rock Hogmanay!"

Pete Doherty was facing a police investigation today after he was involved in a brawl with an Italian photographer outside his hotel.

The Babyshambles singer’s experience in Rome was anything but La Dolce Vita when he was left covered in blood.

Doherty, 27, jumped on the paparazzo and rained several punches on him before the pair were dragged apart.

The fight was said to have been witnessed by several girls who had been invited back to the band’s hotel following their gig at the city’s Piper Club.

One said Doherty’s head was "dripping with blood" and that band members had grabbed metal ashtrays to use as weapons in the brawl.

Police were not called and the singer was treated by fans and his band members while the photographer was said to have gone to hospital.

As Doherty flew home, it was said the photographer would file a complaint against him.

The concert itself had been marred by a spectator who threw a bottle at the Babyshambles’ drummer, prompting the band to walk off stage.

The crowd had been provoked when Doherty - who is fighting heroin addiction - threw his microphone stand into the crowd.

As the concert descended into chaos, he pushed over amplifiersand the drum kit before smashing another microphone stand on the stage.

After the gig Doherty leapt on a scooter and was driven off without a helmet — a breach of Italian law. He also jumped into a car and drove around before returning to the group's minibus.

I couldn't be any more surprised and shocked and angry about this whole Peter news :angry: It's really shameful and awful booo I don't know, people can be so obsessed about something sometimes that they do terrible terrible things.
