Just re-watched this part. So at around 5:30 she says that when she won the Oscar she was with her Spanish family, her brother Jesus and her sister Cristina. Apparently, before winning the Oscar, Jesus told her that if she won she would have to say "viva la madre que me pario" :lol:. Ok so I don't even know if that is the correct spelling or how to properly translate it but it means literally something like "viva the mother who gave birth to me" which I guess is funny in Spanish.

Perhaps someone with a better understanding of Spanish can explain this better. :)

The interviewer says that this usually happens in the show and points to the two guitars in the back. Gwyneth: "oh no". The interviewer hands her one guitar saying that it is already connected. He asks her to sing something live. Gwyneth: "no. why? noo." Audience: "yeees". Gwyneth explains that she hasn't played guitar for a really long time and says the if the interviewer plays she can sing something. The interviewer plays 'Borriquito como tu' and asks Gwyneth to sing along. He explains that 'Borriquito como tu' means donkey like you or I am smarter than you and finishes by saying that no one ever knew the exact meaning of the song. He continues the song: 'Borriquito como tu' that doesn't even know a-e-i-o-u. Only then does the interviewer conclude that the song might be a little complicated for Gwyneth.

. The interviewer says that it is now time to talk about work after saying that Gwyneth is now the face for Hugo Boss. He asks her about a movie that she's going to do with Antonio Banderas which is called 33 days. She explains that the movie is about the time Picasso took to paint "Guernica". She says that they are going to film in Spain, that her role is in Spanish and that it is the first time she is going to speak in Spanish for a movie. Gwyneth is all like "let's see how it goes" and the interviewer says that she speaks Spanish perfectly with an accent that makes her lovely (flirting much?).

. Some strange dolls pop up in the set and a game called El Gwynethpaltrowizador starts. Gwyneth has to guess the name of the person in which her face becomes (see for yourself it's easier!). One of them is Madonna so the interviewer comments that she has a lot of friends who are female singers. Gwyneth explains that Beyonce, along with Beyonce's husband, is her best friend female singer. She says she knows Lady Gaga a bit and Madonna as well.

. The interviewer asks what does Gwyneth talk about with Beyonce and the doll says that they probably practice "All the single ladies" together. Gwyneth responds "only on Wednesdays" (a bit of a Chris Martin type of humour don't you think?).

 

 

 

Tortilla de patatas con Gwyneth Paltrow

 

. The interviewer says that they are now going to talk about Gwyneth's cooking abilities and her love for Spanish food. He shows a bit of a programme that she participated in which is called "Spain on the Road Again".

. The interviewer says that Gwyneth is going to cook Tortilla de patatas (patatas = potatoes) and confesses that he never cooked a tortilla. He asks her, an American, to teach him, a Spanish guy, how to do one. Gwyneth says she has an idea: her Spanish mother cooks the best tortilla in the world and she's there. She says "Mummy where are you?"

. When the mom comes the interviewer asks her: "she's like a daughter to you?" and the mom says "it's like one more daughter". Interviewer: "Well she has come out well". Mom: "yes she's wonderful".

. The interviewer says that if the mom doesn't help he has no idea what to do. The mom comments that the potatoes are minced too much (do you say this in English?). The interviewer starts copying the mom.

. As the recipe needs eggs, the interviewer comments "I hope that your dress is not too expensive Gwyneth because some eggs might ruin it".

. The interviewer asks about the salt. The mom asks: "but this doesn't have salt already? This is a disaster because the salt should have been there already". Interviewer: "but we didn't know". Mom: "no problem, we will put it now". The interviewer comments that the mom must have been really strict to Gwyneth in the past.

. The interviewer presents the man in black. The man says: "you have asked me to write a book with the best moments of Gwyneth life so I wrote a small story. It's a special book. You can see that nothing is written on it, that's because it is only about your life if you read it" (whaaat?)

She continued to grow and went to California to study Art History. But the girl had other concerns and quickly moved to NY to be an actress. . Another girl was putting cream (crema in Spanish) and says that, because she likes to put cream so much, when she grows up she would like to be "cremallera" (which is a rack according to google).

. Last girl: she was sitting in her parents car and saw the sign which means it is forbidden to turn left. She said: look mum, here boomerangs are not allowed.

I can explain that. Mother says to her "día" (day) but the girl instead of say "noche" (night) said "Mercadona". This was because in Spain there is a supermarket called "Dia" and when the girl heard that word, she thought that her mother was talking about this supermarket so she answered "Mercadona" that is another supermarket.

Well as I have watched it again, I really do believe they knew they were being watched, Chris definitely looked straight at the guy and nodded to Gwyn as if to say "Ok" time to go... It didn't look like it bothered him , she kinda looked frazzled, not from the pap, but tired looking in general, he did make her smile and that was an 'Awwww" minute:)

Well, it is a bit bizzare the PDA that has been going on, compared to all of these yrs we have had nothing, and I do commend the pap for at least fuzzing the kiddos faces out.

 

That said, Your guess is good as mine, I liked the fact they were private, and I enjoy seeing them out together as well.

 

They might have changed a little because the kids are older, or their close friends have talked to them about it, who knows.

 

We also don't know who exactly it was between the 2 of them who is the one who wants to avoid the limelight together, could be one had a change of heart, there again I am only speculating.

I think the media can never decide with these two. They hide from them and it means they are in trouble. They appear in public and it means, too, that they are in trouble. Whatever their situation is, it is theirs! IMO, they clearly want to stay married, per Gwyn's recent interviews. They are clearly loosening up and Chris is throwing her parties with special guests so more power to them.

I agree - it seemed they knew they were being watched, and it didn't really seem to bother them. And I admit that I, for a split second, cursed the lady whose big head crossed in front of the camera right at the climactic moment. :veryangry2: AND :laugh3:.

 

I do give little brownie points for blurring the kids' faces. As far as paps go, it was a decent thing to do I suppose.

 

I might be terrible (and while I would draw the line at approaching them myself if I saw them out), but I wanted to watch the video. :embarrassed: AND :D.
