  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

Watching the Brits and feeling sentimental:

The first time I watched Coldplay live was in Boston in 2001. They opened a Rock festival with bands like Greenday, The Cult, Maralyn Manson and Aerosmith. Their 11am audience was rude, abusive and embarrassing. The band was so discouraged that day and some say they thought of giving up!

How far you've come, and how proud I am of you!:D

I heard Princess of China on the radio for the first time. :) I'm also happy that Coldplay won a Brit award tonight. :awesome:

I wish Chris had been serious about opening in Coldplay theme park. That would be amazing. :P

I sense a new thread,lol.;)

(And you never know. Peter Gabriel opened one years ago, so down the road, when Coldplay have run out of ways to spend all that money...)

haha I can always have hope then. :D But seriously that would be amazing...there would be an actual Strawberry Swing.

The lineup for that would be RIDICULOUS

A Coldplay theme park? I'd go there.

I see all of it-the rides, the stands, the ticket booths, etc.-decked out in a bunch of bright, neon colors, courtesy of the band going around and spray-painting the hell out of everything.

That is one BIZARRE lineup. Poor guys :(. Yeah, that crowd likely wouldn't be at all receptive to them. How unfortunate, the crowd didn't know what they were missing out on *Shakes head, tsks*.

But the band definitely had the last laugh. So hooray for them and hooray for not giving up! That's cool you got to see them back then-at least someone was there to support 'em :D.

There! I changed my avi!! But I miss my old one, lol.

^Yeah, I still have a recording from the board. Chris introduces them saying they're from England and some a&&hole yells 'Go back to your country!'. It's funny now, but at the time, it was so sad.

They showed 'em all!:D

I know, sometimes you wish you could have multiple avatars :p.

This is my first one here, so woo! And a fine, fine picture to start off with, too.

:veryangry: Well, when that idiot goes back to the rock he crawled out from under, then we'll talk. Oy. That makes me embarrassed as an American.

Yeah. It'd be a pretty crushing experience for sure. Makes a band tougher, though, so hey, upside.

Indeed. I wonder what that guy thinks now? Clearly he's doing nothing of note.

A friend backstage told me that they got a really good pep talk from their label rep, and the next day in DC, Chris flew around them giving the 'we're gonna make it' speech, lol. Not sure, but apparently it's where their group hug before every show began. Nothing like a little adversity to bring you close and get you through! And now they're holding their 7th Brit? I think they'll be alright, lol:D

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwww . That warms my little heart, that story. I love that that's supposedly what inspired them to start doing the group hug. Very cool and sweet. Explains the inspirational nature of much of their music, too.

Yeah, I think you're right :).

Why do so many of you gurls have this avatar pic?

I don't know, but christ, that performance was HOT. 2:08 to about 2:20 or so...yeow.

And then later on, too, out near the audience...heh, ohhhh, yeah, I'm quite certain some of those hands probably wound up in some very interesting spots. He's got to be more careful out there, that boy.

Excellent performance. I liked whatever the heck it was Chris kept mumbling throughout in certain parts of the song, and I liked the ticking clock on the background, too.

It occurred to me, too, watching that, that one day, we could see Coldplay accepting the same sort of award Blur got last night. Which would be pretty freakin' cool.

And I could make it SO much worse! Discussion of who wants whose head could get...oops, I'll just shut up and skulk away now. *shuts up and skulks away...grinning*:wink3:
