  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

i LOVE high speed! i never really got why it has such a bad rap :P

i'm going to amsterdam tomorrow on a yucky day, so just GUESS what song will be in my head? :D

i said a few days ago that i've been seeing the number 42 everywhere...

on the way home from school today i saw it at LEAST 10 times.

and while i was listening to my ipod (for the first time since it came out, i was playing something OTHER than viva la vida) the song 'agoraphobia' by incubus came on. and i'm singing along (in my head, because singing outloud on a public bus makes you a crazy person) when all of a sudden this line comes up...

"the 42nd floor, on a distant shore..."

i just about yanked my headphones out of my ears.

am i going crazy??

^^ wow! I love those kind of coincidences though!!

HOw? shooting a reality??

anyway the first thing I thought about was the film 23 too:P:P......:dead: kind of scary!

I work as a host at a restaurant, and whenever I get bored (doesn't take long) I find myself writing the words "DON'T PANIC!" on the side of the restaurant map facing the customers.

I was at home yesterday and was sanding the walls down, preparing them to be painted. Since the wall paint on this particular wall was a dark muddy brown colour (we had more pleasant wallpaper covering it previously), the sanding paper would make a whitish mark on the wall. So I was blasting VLVODAAHF at the time, and so I found myself sanding the Viva La Vida logo onto the wall.

Then the doorbell rang, and i had to quickly try to sand over the letters in case it was a neighbour (just to spare them witnessing my insanity),but it turned out to be my brother. I was hoping he wouldn't notice (I thought I did a damn good job at covering up the letters :P) but somehow he managed to figure them out... I was in the kitchen at the time, and I could hear my brother from the lounge: "V... Viva... La....... Semy. You're so OBSESSED."

Unfortunately I had no comeback for that one :P

ahhhh that's sooo great! that sounds like something i would do, and something my mom would walk in on and make fun of me for

i just wish you could have taken a picture!

oh man, you know what i JUST thought of? when i had the paints out and made my netherlands painting yesterday that you saw, i should have tried to do the VLV logo instead! *smacks head*

well, another day :P

also, one of the kids that i'm looking after here is 12. these kids live a rather...sheltered life and are treated like they're younger than they are. i think at the right moment, i'm going to ask the 12-year-old if he listens to any music (i doubt he does, though i did see a CD player in his luggage yesterday), and if he does, what he listens to. then i'll casually steer the conversation to me making music suggestions, namely coldplay. because really, what ELSE out there would be that wholesome and appropriate for his picky parents? :D

Good idea Chelsea. :nice:

Just don't play him Spies. Or Yes

spies? :laugh4:

i actually think he'd love that one. it's not like its about bad things, it's just a bit scarier or something :P

and yes...is pretty much the only one that has even the remotest bit of anything questionable in it. but really, at age 12, i dont think he'd figure that out.

Yeah Parachutes was banned in China because of Spies. It was interpreted as an anti-communist song. It wouldn't have any affect on your child though, was just being silly :D

And yeah, Yes is only questionable if you know the subject. Just turn it down when his mum is around :P

Definitely cultivate a love of Coldplay in young minds LOL. I tried to do that with my friend's 13 yr old girl, but she's more into the Jonas Brothers right now. and her 9yr old brother is more into Green Day...he's way to hyper for even the most upbeat Coldplay song.

Well, tell her, it's either Coldplay or...tattoos! Or some cult-like religion. Or....drugs. Or something much more terrible than adoring 4 cute Brit boys and their music :D. (or wait, is it 'cause you're French and they are 4 BRIT boys? LOL

It is true that this side we are quiet :smug: ! Posters, places of concert and all my discussions is missing ! I have to speak only about that since June 16th or for 8 years  ! I have to meditate top !

It is rather a nice passion! Ah I forgot my jacket which I am relooking !

JONNY BOYYYYY ! Brits boys are sexy :laugh3: sorry !

And then I work my English also! Although he seems to me extremely inferior...

A bunch of Coldplay perfomances are on demand! Under music and concert.tv. I just watched it! I was flipping through channels and I flip past on demand, and I saw an ad for Coldplay and freaked out. :D [You can see it here too: www.concert.tv]

I forgot how much I loved White Shadows! :nice:

And a repeat of The Daily Show with Coldplay is coming on tonight, according to the guide on my tv. Yaaay!!

I'm listening to X&Y at the moment, it's not as poor as I originally thought...:stunned:

...Still very uninspired though.:dozey:

Ive been randomly inserting band names (or other lyrics from Coldplay) into other bands music.

My favorite new song title is

Chris, I love you... But youre bringing me down

i think its much better sounding than New York I love you, But Youre Bringing Me Down.

It also reminds me of my friend chris in australia (who in turn reminds me of chris martin) who is seriously breaking my heart. well he does have a girlfriend and we're in this f-ed up situation - but he told me tonight when he comes to Canada he's bringing her and when he goes to Paris she'll be there too. We were planning on having some sordid rendez vous in both the places.

Needless to say - my song is very apropros right now.

i cant think of my other songs at the moment - but they tend to be LCD Soundsystem songs for some bizarre reason.

If you're reading this Chris Martin:

Why couldn't you be 10 years younger and live in CT, USA! I LOVE YOU!

ok, obesessive rant over...

:inquisitive:

^very good question on all fronts!

what part of CT do you live in?

I live in Waterbury (dirtywaterz lol) and I will be living in New Haven in the fall for school.

Since it was a miserable day here in the south-west of england, I was stuck indoors for most of the day... so I decided to try out my new camera that arrived this morning :nice:

I was taking photos of our road from my brother's window, when I noticed a stack of CDs on the windowsill which had a custom burned copy of Parachutes on the top (complete with bonus tracks from U2 and Stereophonics :P), so here's the picture:

Lame excuse for a random thoughts post, but I just like the fact that a CD I burned 3 years ago seems to still be in use somehow, seeing as it was at the top of the CD stack :D
