  • I just wanted to say, after 5 years of being part of the Coldplay fandom, first on Coldplaying, now on Coldplaying, Twitter and other platforms, a wonderful thing happened today: Coldplay followed me

  • I ran away
    I ran away

On this day exactly 5 years ago, a young and innocent person who was just getting really into Coldplay wanted to sign up on a forum called Coldplaying. Faced with the question of what to pick as a use

  • Today exactly 5 years ago, I joined the Coldplaying community and I don't regret that that. To be honest, it's probably one of the best things that have happened in my life! I had never thought I woul

I know! That first drum beat is just makes my heart skip because then I know its' IMP! :nice:

I was listening to AROBTTH at 4 in the morning and once IMP came on my iPod I bursted out crying. The whole house was silent and the only sound was from my iPod, and it just sounded so clear and beautiful and I got emotional because this song is a very personal song to me and it has been for a long time, and just by seeing them live I feel like I've come a long way since those hard times a while ago, and that was when I found Coldplay.

Today I was showing my little nine year-old sister the program book I got at the concert, and there was a page with all the guys together and she said 'I know who they are! That one's the lead singer, he plays the guitar, he plays drums, and he plays bass." And she's pointing to each guy, and she was right about all of them! And I never even told her before or made her watch videos or anything, so I don't know how she knew!! I was so amazed! I patted her head and said 'AWWWW I'M SO PROUD OF YOU!' I was such a proud sister, you have no idea, lol. Then afterwards I taught her their actual names. :D

Then later on tonight we were talking about something and she said 'You should call Dr.House." And I laughed and said 'yeah, I wish House was real!' and then all of a sudden she randomly said 'you know, Chris from Coldplay looks like Hugh Laurie.' :stunned: Oh my God, I don't know how she knows all this stuff!! And how does she know Hugh Laurie plays House?!? She surprises me so much sometimes....

Last night at the concert when they performed Lost! I actually thought of my sister because she really loves that song....:nice:

Aww, that's so cute! How old is she? :wacky:

Oh, although I don't exactly agree with the Chris Martin-Hugh Laurie comparison. ;)

I would love once just meet someone in a store and just talk about Coldplay!

I was on a car trip for 5 hours 3 days ago, and then suddenly on the radio VLV came on and I was like: Trun the sound up! And so I was smiling but then the radio kind of made this annoying sound like its fading away, and I got so pissed!

So later that day Speed of Sound came on, and again, TURN it up! But then we went under a tunnel, so the radio signal didn't work, and is soo annoying!

The worst thing is that it happend two times!

I listened to Parachutes after sooo long on the train in London,

Fuck me, it makes you realise its an amazing album

AWWW that's so sweet. I love listening to AROBTTH with headphones late at night...it's so relaxing. That album has a certain quality to it...especially title track and Amsterdam, that listening to it in the dark is the perfect setting. Also, I've found that listenting to any Coldplay album in the car helps me with road rage LOL. It distracts me from the stupid people on the road, and calms me if I'm in a hurry stressing out speeding to get somewhere (which is my normal way of driving!)

listening to "viva la vida" at (the outside of) versailles was pretty epic :P

(it was too crowded for me to have time to stand in line to get tickets for me to go inside :bigcry:)

actually, "viva la vida" anywhere in paris was pretty awesome.

and...

I SAW THE REAL LIBERTY LEADING THE PEOPLE!!!!!!!

right now, the camera that the pictures are on is broken, but hopefully i can buy a card reader later in the day so i can put the photos up. it's an amazing painting anyway, but it means quite a lot to me now. and the thing is HUGE! i thought it was a normal-sized canvas, like 3ft by 2ft or something, but it's one of those mondo-sized canvasses that's like 8ft by 10ft. i was quite shocked.

my friends that i was with probably thought i was a bit insane, so i didn't take a cheesy pic of me next to it in my VLV shirt, but i have about 10 photos of the thing, and one close-up one of "jonny" in it :P

hopefully i can post pictures of it later tonight!

i really need to get a decent pair of headphones since the ones i get for my ipod always break after two months. i don't know what i'm doing wrong.

so i plan on getting huge ones for my stereo.

preferably in pink.

i need to get into that certain coldplay mood before the concert, which is why i wanna blast their music as loud as possible and i don't want my neighbours to go crazy. i just need headphones.

I was watching The Wizard of Oz last night and I think I know where Chris gets his dance moves. :P

^AHAHAHAH!!!

I can hear Viva La Vida coming from the hedge at the bottom of my garden at this moment :uhoh:

I was sitting in my garden before and next door but one there are some really annoying and loud kids playing. Anyway a particularly shrill girl suddenly yells "Oh my god it's Chris Martin"

I was obviously extremely surprised to find the little brat was lying when I looked out of my bedroom window  :P I mean why the hell wouldn't Chris Martin jump on a plane and hang out on my street? :dozey:

I was reading this book and when I got to this part I immediately thought of DAAHF:

Not until the summer did John draw any conclusion from the strange state of exhiliration he found himself in: life and death were confronting each other within him. He imagined them drinking together like good friends, for the feeling spreading through him was like the slight intoxication felt from that first drink.

Sometimes i start writing a comment here about how much Coldplay means to me, but then i stop, and delete everything, cuz i think "man, there are millions of coldplay fans in here who love them so much too, why should they care about my case?", but today i'll just post it and whatever :)

Back in my 12, 13, i used to hate them. Really, i used to HATE them, i had an awful musical taste and Coldplay was like that band i hated the most, seriously. One day, i was 14, i met this person. Who ended up to be the most important person in my whole life, it's been years and we still love each other. I asked for her favorite band and when i hear "Coldplay, for sure" i was like omfg... One month after i had bought their 2 albums and then x&y, i was completely addicted.

Now, after all these years, they still are our soundtrack, they still mean everything to us, and always will. Yellow will always be our song. I cant explain what they are to me, they are my life. Really. Everytime i hear them, everytime someone talks about them, everytime i feel their presence on my daily life, my heart beats so fast i think this addiction is starting to hurt me...

Oh, that's so nice.

I used to be similar. I had the worst music taste and I hated softer bands like Keane. I had never heard of Coldplay tho and then when I first got hooked on Yellow it completely changed all my musical tastes.
