Don't Panic - Lyrics

Featured Replies

Ok, this is really weird, different sites have different lyrics for the opening bit of Don't Panic.

It's either "Bones, sinking like stones" or "Oh, we're sinking like stones" and also either "All those places we've grown" or "Homes, places we've gone".

So i'm really confused which one is the actual line cause I keep listening to song over and over and it could be either of the two lines but i'm leaning more towards it being "Oh we're sinking... and All those.."

Bones, Sinking like stones,

all that we've fought for

all these/those places we've grown

all of us are done for

--> correct me if I'm wrong but I think that's it.

i thought it was homes, places we've grown?

right about the first part tho with the bones ;0) hehe!

Why is my mind stuck on thinking it sounds like "Oh we're sinking like stones"

i think whenever you learn the lyrics like you think they sound its difficult when you find out they;re not right! hehe! It's happened to me many times! lol

when i listen to it i hear

Bones sinking like stones

all that we fall for

homes places we've grown

all of us are done for

Bones sinking like stones

all that we fought for

homes places we've grown

all of us are done for

that's it according to the official site.. and my ears ;)

:laugh4: though after the whole 'slipping sun' thing who knows? :laugh4:

oh yeah! lol I noticed that!! I was like........what's THIS?!!!!!!! another B-side?! lol

It's "Born, sinking like stones" and "Homes, places we've grown"

When I listen to it it doesn't sound like "bones" though. I guess we'll never know :P

Well using correct grammar it should be.....

Bones sinking like stones

all that we've fought for

homes places we've grown

all of us are done for

lol Born, sinking like stones? it's suppose to rhyme I thought.

Reminds me of bones sinking into the earth of no-man's land.

I never thought it was that complicated, I also knew them to be "Bones, sinking like stones, all that we fought for. Homes, places we've grown, all of us are done for.

Coldplaying's tracksearch backs me up, as do most lyric sites. If you need further convincing, check out some live vids on you-tube where you can hear Chris annunciate the lyrics in different, more understandable ways.

As for the we/we've debate. It really doesn't matter too much. The f at the beginning of fought causes one to make a v sound anyway. I think the intent was to say 'we fought' instead of 'we've fought for' but the meaning is same. If anything, grammatically speaking, the ' have' that we've abbreviates is an unneccessary complication of the sentence. Since 'We have fought for' is less practical than "We fought for" I don't see why one would still go out of their way to say "We've fought for". But they sound virtually the same, and since they mean the same thing, there's no real point in arguing the matter.

Yeah, can't believe these lyrics were questioned, they seem pretty obvious to me. There aren't many Coldplay lyrics I can't figure out.

Some of the lyrics sites can be wrong though. This 'searching your mellow'/Sergio Mello thing is really getting to me now.

The next person who meets one of the members should ask them immediately about those lyrics!

Sometimes in Clocks (only sometimes, not all the time) "shoot an apple off my head" sounds a tiny, tiny bit like "shouldn't I pull off my head". Only sometimes though.

I learnt it as that, I SWEAR in the song AND the live 03 DVD it sounded like shouldn't I pull off my head, and it sounds better, like it actually fits to me. But of course it has to be the abstract lyric

it is DEFINITELY

Bones.

and

Homes.

I can't hear anything but those lyrics

when i listen to it i hear

Bones sinking like stones

all that we fall for

homes places we've grown

all of us are done for

same

Bones, sinking like stones

All that we fought for

Homes, places we've grown

All of us are done for

We live in a beautiful world

Yeah we do, yeah we do

We live in a beautiful world

Oh, all that I know

There's nothing here to run from

Cos here everybody here

Got somebody to lean on...

I thought it was "All that we've fallen for"
