The Oasis Thread

I only found out this morning :(.....by my dad! He was on the computer this morning and told me when I woke up! I was shocked, my older brother who is 22 is in the RAF and he is A MASSIVE FAN OF OASIS, I wonder if he knows, I'll have to give him a ring, he will be devestated, he grew up with them....

They were the band that got me into music, Don't Look Back In Anger was the song actually, I will never forget that song or any of their music....an end of an era!

They were supposed to do a show today and tommorow and to be honest I can't see why Noel couldn't of at least grin and bare the shows with Liam and then quit the band other than dissapoint thousands of fans :(

EDIT: Stop Crying Your Heart Out!

What happened is so sad. Not really a fan of theirs but I liked some songs. I hope all of you will get through this hard situation soon.

EDIT: Stop Crying Your Heart Out!

He's been working with his brother for 18 years now. I guess Noel's felt like he's had enough.

And you have no idea how my times I've listened to that song today.

I'm so fucking sad... this is the end of an era :bigcry:

Big Oasis week on Coldplaying in a couple of weeks?

All you people who've seen them in concert are so damn lucky. I find out about their December show one week after... and it's the biggest thing I regret right now.

I should've been looking for tour dates more. :bigcry::bigcry:!!!!!!

I should of camped out over night in Bridlington to get tickets :bigcry: but I needed money first...:( :bigcry:

Yeah, I didn't have any money in December. I prolly' would've starved to see them anyways... 'specially if I knew what happened yesterday.

Already been posted in the other thread, but I guess I'll post it in here as well.

Dearly beloved, it is with a heavy heart and a sad face that I say this to you this morning.

As of last Friday the 28th August, I have been forced to leave the Manchester rock'n'roll pop group Oasis.

The details are not important and of too great a number to list. But I feel you have the right to know that the level of verbal and violent intimidation towards me, my family, friends and comrades has become intolerable. And the lack of support and understanding from my management and band mates has left me with no other option than to get me cape and seek pastures new.

I would like firstly to offer my apologies to them kids in Paris who'd paid money and waited all day to see us only to be let down AGAIN by the band. Apologies are probably not enough, I know, but I'm afraid it's all I've got.

While I'm on the subject, I'd like to say to the good people of V Festival that experienced the same thing. Again, I can only apologise - although I don't know why, it was nothing to do with me. I was match fit and ready to be brilliant. Alas, other people in the group weren't up to it.

In closing I would like to thank all the Oasis fans, all over the world. The last 18 years have been truly, truly amazing (and I hate that word, but today is the one time I'll deem it appropriate). A dream come true. I take with me glorious memories.

Now, if you'll excuse me I have a family and a football team to indulge.

I'll see you somewhere down the road. It's been a fuckin' pleasure.

Thanks very much.

Goodbye.

NG.

Well written, but so sad. :bigcry:

:bigcry:

Thanks for posting!

Morning Glory has gone to Number 33 in the iTunes chart in the UK! :bigcry:

It's such a weird feeling....

Noel will miss nights like this.

Noel will go back to the band;)

I don't know if this has already been posted, but:

There has been trouble brewing in the Oasis camp for some years if recent reports are to be believed.

But things apparently came to a head backstage in Paris when brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher reportedly came to blows.

A witness to the scene told The Sun: "It all kicked off after a few jibes were thrown back and forward between them. It got totally out of hand very quickly and all the pent-up anger just exploded.

"Noel is so mild-mannered and above it all, but everyone has a breaking point.

Luckily the fisticuffs were broken up rapidly but an angry Liam had one last blow to land.

The source continued: "The fight was split up quickly but Liam smashed up one of Noel's guitars to make his point.

"That was it. The last act of anger that Noel could put up with. He just doesn't need the hassle any more."

The spat appeared to be the straw that broke the camel's back for Noel who made the following announcement on the band's website: "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight.

"People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.

"Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan."

According to the Sun, Liam has since told pals that Oasis would continue without Noel but don't expect a reunion any time soon.
