I absolutely adore Damien Rice...he is brilliant! Sadly, I have never seen him live, and I doubt he will ever be anywhere in the US midwest anytime in the near future. Lisa Hannigan is also brilliant, and I wish that she and Damien were still performing together.

My friend told me today that she read an interview where Damien Rice says that Lisa and him were in a relationship before and that the whole 'O' album was about them. I had no idea before :o

It's pretty obvious they had some sort of relationship. I just wonder if the reason they stopped working together is because they broke up. :thinking:

Damien writes a lot of his songs off of his personal experiences (scratch that, I think he writes all of his songs that way), so I can see it in a few things, not all. :nice:

I know that he often tells little stories about his songs before he performs them...and thanks, Christina, for posting "It Didn't Take You Long", wonderful song. I too wonder if it is about Lisa!

I think I listened to his album O... very great songwriting and emotion packed, but I felt it a bit depressing (from what I remember)

I dont really remember if I already wrote here, so sorry if I will repeat myself, but he is one of the best musicians I've ever heard.

He really is so wonderful.

 

And his songs can be depressing, I see that. But I also see them as more powerful than most other musicians' music.

 

That's what gets me. The power in his voice, all the emotion. Amazing.

You know, I'm getting REALLY sick of seeing Damien's live section like this.
