Tour 2008

Featured Replies

Well of course they'd be fools not to go on another tour of the U.S. after this album since it sounds like Chris believes this is the band's best work yet.

As long as they come to Cleveland, OH I will be happy as that's only a 40 minute drive and they did come for the X&Y Tour. (First Coldplay concert ever!)

As i've never seen them yet, I hope they'll come to Paris. "Stade de France" is huge (80.000 people) and outdoor. They deserve this place. The sound is not that good though compared with a real hall such as "Bercy" which is indoor but somewhat smaller.

Stade de France would be incredible. I've been to Paris a couple of times and been past that stadium and it's immense.

If they are doing massive stadium concerts, then I wouldn't rule out them doing a show at the new Wembley.

But who knows what their tour plans are to be, I bet even the band don't even know everywhere they are going.

BERCY hall which is indoor is much better for the sound than Stade de France. I've been to both of them a few times and i can really notice the big difference, that's why i would prefer Coldplay to go to Bercy where they would have to give 2 concerts in a row as it would be booked up in a short time, i'm sure for the first concert. For POLICE it was booked up in a couple of hours' time. I got tickets on time though.

They should do an outdoor concert at Thruxton, as the acoustics at that venue are pretty much spot on, without too much sound leakage or without massive echoes, I think when they were designing where to put the noise fences they got a sound engineer in.

...But the main reason is that I only live 3 miles away, so I could walk there.

I wouldn't complain if they start their European tour in Hamburg again like in 2005. :D

the problem in stadiums is the sound....

I also really hop for sweden. I have been a fan of coldplay for years now and they have not even been in skandinaivia for years. So please coldplay, come to sweden!

they must come here.

I'd like for CJGW to go a few minutes in their gigs without any vocals or light effects or videos and just play their instruments and show off their musicianship, a bit like what The Verve do, Embrace at the end of Out Of Nothing, U2 - gives you a chance to appreciate their musical talent and watch the band feed off each other. Then Chris could introduce each member of the band whilst they do their thang so to speak. That'd be cool.

UK dates are likely to be.

(off the top of my head)

Newcastle - Metroradio Arena.

Birmingham - NIA Arena

Manchester - MEN Arena

London - Emirates Stadium (I can dream :D)

Bolton - RBK Stadium.

can't think of anywhere else.

Washington, D.C.-Capital of the USA better get hit up.

the guys will definitely come down under. it seems ludacris if they didn't. the reception they received here during the TLT was exhilirating. i never knew so many aussie fans existed

so definitely

!

A proper UK tour would be nice instead of the usual 5 or 6 arenas again. Surely they miss playing the smaller venues? Maybe not. What do I know.

For that I hope somehow they play White Hart Lane :D

do you all think that coldplay sound better in stadiums? i most certainly dont they just dont have the right sound to suit the large venues. they did make a very half-arsed attempt at it in X&Y. i would much rather see them at a smaller venue (max capacity of 25000) but i think theres very little doubt that they will do a wembley gig.
