January 24, 200818 yr News on the next bond film! "The latest addition to the famous Bond film series has finally been given its official name. - Actor Daniel Craig looks over a scene during the filming of a James Bond movie at the Palio horse race in Siena's main square Quantum of Solace was revealed at a launch event held at Pinewood Studios in west London and sees Daniel Craig reprise his role as the super spy with Dame Judi Dench returning as M. They are joined by British newcomer and St Trinian's star, Gemma Arterton, while Ukrainian model and actress Olga Kurylenko has been cast as the new Bond girl - the "dangerously alluring" Camille. French actor Mathieu Amalric is Bond's arch nemesis Dominic Greene. Producer Michael G Wilson said the title was selected just a few days ago. "It's from a Fleming short story from the compendium For Your Eyes Only. It's uncharacteristic of most of Fleming's work. It's a character study that doesn't involve plots or anything with spies. "We thought it was an intriguing title that references what's happening to Bond and what's happening to him in this film. This one is an original Fleming title. That's really important to us. It really suits the film. That's why we chose it," he said. FIilming began for the much-anticipated action movie in November under the working title Bond 22 and Wilson said the new movie begins just an hour after the last one ends. Bond producer Barbara Broccoli said: "It's not a revenge movie. It's much more complicated than that. There's much more action and it also deals with the inner turmoil of Bond following Casino Royale. Broccoli added that she expects Craig, whose casting was criticised by many Bond fans when it was first announced, to make more 007 films after this one. "We have talked about doing more films with him. He seems very happy to do that. So we'll just film one at a time," she said. The latest instalment of the 007 series is expected to hit cinemas worldwide on November 7." http://uk.news.yahoo.com/rtrs/20080124/tuk-uk-britain-bond-fa6b408_6.html http://uk.news.yahoo.com/itn/20080124/ten-new-bond-title-revealed-ea4616c_3.html Really looking forward to this :D

January 24, 200818 yr If only Coldplay made albums as often as Broccoli made Bond movies :dozey: True dat. Making these Bond movies so often....well...it'll lose the specialness. It'll just be like 'oh it's that time of year again...a new Bond movie...'
January 24, 200818 yr Author If only Coldplay made albums as often as Broccoli made Bond movies :dozey: Haha, so true.
January 25, 200818 yr Can we start a big debate about the name? I reckon it sounds more like an Indianna Jones film, as opposed to a Bond film. Agree / Dissagree? FIGHT!!!
January 25, 200818 yr So who's going to be recording the song for this one then - Coldplay perhaps, Spies!
January 25, 200818 yr So who's going to be recording the song for this one then - Coldplay perhaps, Spies! *Groan!*
July 30, 200817 yr Alicia Keys and Jack White have recorded the theme tune for the next James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. R&B singer Keys has teamed up with the star of rock bands White Stripes and The Raconteurs for Another Way to Die, the first duet in Bond theme history. The announcement follows speculation that the job would go to British stars Amy Winehouse, Duffy or Leona Lewis. Quantum of Solace, which will see Daniel Craig return as 007, will be released later this year. Winehouse was working on a theme with producer Mark Ronson - but that was scrapped because Ronson said the singer was not up to recording. The new partnership sees the slick and soulful Keys team up with raw and bluesy rocker White. Despite their different musical backgrounds, both are leading figures in the US scene, with 18 Grammy Awards between them. White has written, produced and played drums on the track. The film's producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said: "We are delighted and pleased to have two such exciting artists as Jack and Alicia." The musicians "were inspired by our film to join together their extraordinary talents in creating a unique sound for Quantum of Solace", the producers said. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7532438.stm
July 31, 200817 yr Should be an interesting theme then.... You Know My Name was amazing last time around, that one song got me into Chris Cornell, Audioslave, Sound Garden and Rage Against The Machine. Just from one song. It has a lot to live up to in my eyes :)
July 31, 200817 yr ^Rage against Machine, have you heard Killing In The Name, Its good, I know how to play it!!:)
July 31, 200817 yr I don't like the name Agreed, it's too long/complicated. If I can't remember the name of the move, why would I want to see it?
July 31, 200817 yr Scheduled release date for is 31st October 2008 (UK) and 7th November 2008 (North America). The villain for the new film is going to be a cross between Blofeld and Odd Job... Blow Job.
July 31, 200817 yr this movie will suck (casino) Royal(e) balls. I think craig is a good bond but they've tried to make it too modern. The cliches, they cheesy catchphrases and cool gadgets is what made james bond so good. they've ruined it and turned it into the bourne movies.
July 31, 200817 yr True dat. Making these Bond movies so often....well...it'll lose the specialness. It'll just be like 'oh it's that time of year again...a new Bond movie...' exactly. the last one was, okay i guess. my dad's forcing my sister and i to take him to see the new one. :dozey: i wouldn't go if he wasn't forcing us. :P
July 31, 200817 yr no casino royal didn't suck...... It was friggin disgraceful. I tried watching it twice , just to give it a chance, yet it failed. It wasn't even a bourne movie. It was more like a boring movie (oh yea!)
October 18, 200817 yr Bond's depths emerge in bleak tale Bond's enemy is played by Frenchman Mathieu Amalric This is a Bond adventure that's badder, better but not bigger. Clocking in at one and three-quarter hours, it's a good half hour shorter than 007's previous outing. And its reduced running time results in a leaner, tauter experience. Picking up shortly after the end of Casino Royale when Bond confronted the mysterious Mr White, Quantum of Solace quickly throws him into a round-the-globe hunt. Bond is trying to track down the shadowy organisation whom he holds responsible for the death of Vesper - the woman he loved and who died at the end of the last movie. And that leads him to sinister bad guy Dominic Greene, played by Mathieu Amalric. Emotional progression So far, so familiar. But what this film does differently is to focus closely on an emotionally battered Bond, his mission and his motivation. There are odd moments of uncertainty when the film tries to juggle Bond's personal story with the ambitious plans being pursued by Greene. But for the most part the villainy rightly takes a back seat to Bond's emotional journey. Daniel Craig is accompanied by actress Olga Kurylenko 007's mission may be what drives the film's plot, but the real interest lies in how Bond deals with the individuals and situations he meets along the way. That's not to say that the film jettisons all the things that have characterised the previous stories. There are broad nods to Goldfinger especially, but this film manages the difficult task of moving the franchise into interesting new areas. The raw nature of the film may put off some who yearn for the days of gizmos, gadgets and Bond quips as he dispenses with faceless opponents. Supporting cast And it's a brave step to push even further a lot of the themes developed in Casino Royale, especially the rediscovery of who Bond is, and why he is the way he is. It's a film that feels like the second part of a trilogy, with this being the bleaker second act. For a lot of the movie Bond is a particularly unsympathetic character, and often it's only Craig's performance along with the shifting morality of Bond's legion of enemies that forces the audience to root for him. Olga Kurylenko, who plays a refreshingly different kind of female companion, does well with a part that has far more depth than most Bond girls. And Gemma Arterton is superb in her brief role as an agent whom Bond encounters in Bolivia, cementing her position as one of cinema's brightest young stars. As ever the end credits promise that James Bond will return, and thanks to Quantum of Solace, the sense of anticipation for this should be particularly high. Not to see what super villain Bond will be battling, but to discover what the next stage will be in a character that Daniel Craig has managed to reinvent and develop movie by movie. Quantum of Solace opens on 31 October. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7676637.stm
