""Violet Hill": One of the strongest of the new songs, the band is considering giving it away as a special promotion in coming weeks and then leaving it off the album."

do you think theres a chance of them posting this on the site in the next week or so?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

*dies*

(sorry, ian, i can't clean up my explosion until i'm completely finished exploding, and i don't think that will be for a while...)

It just might happen! Similar to with Speed of Sound. We got a short snippet of it through some Cingular ringtone promotion before it was on the radio or anything.

i almost cried too. but i clicked the link and saw what it contained and went "ohmygod!" and started flapping my arms around like i do when i'm excited. i started dancing in place on my bed. my roommate looked at me like i was insane. even now i'm still getting these little excitement tremors that i can't keep in. i really wish i was home so i could jump around screaming like i'm dying to.

now i'm going to stalk the official site even MORE in hopes of a song post!

i got really excited when i saw the article and clicked right away, my friend was right next to me reading the song titles, and mentioned something I couldn't help but slightly agree with and it got me nervous: "Sounds like a new My Chemical Romance album".

I can't wait for the songs, but the titles are scaring me XD

thanks thanks, after a bad day this is a sorta good new, thank you very much

^whoa!! haven't seen you in a while! :D

(must. stop. posting. in this thread.)

Quite of few of the discriptions say of having piano in the songs.so it doesnt seem that they left the piano out like rumors were saying they might!I love the piano in coldplay songs!!This is amazing news!!We also go to hear new music titles too!

^don't be super excited about the piano if you are expecting coldplay piano. Its going to be different

Hurrah, answers! :nice: Good article.

May is going to take too long.

how you dare to compare coldplay with my chemical roman**?? remember this oh no nothing else compares!

And I'm sure this won't be like other rock bands, like the white stripes or franz ferdinand for example, the rough songs from coldplay like god put a smile have no reselbmace with these band's songs, for what I've seen, and know how rolling stone magazine is, this is going to be a great great album, like another arobtth for me, not in music or lyrics but in succes and likeness (for me of course)

If they say its coming out in may then there should be a single out really soon...shouldnt there be?

I now fully expect something by my birthday in April.

It's officially time to get excited.

Did anyone notice the song Yes! lost its exclamation mark? I must say I'm glad.

if somebody wants the text in spanish

just ask me ;)

*dances*

Bring on the single!!! I seriously can't wait...I hope it's before April...but that's wishful thinking

^Was 6 weeks ahead last time, if I remember right (probably don't) so early April?

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

he is really great at writing great lyrics which will get into minds of persons and rule like anything at many points of life!

well reign of love also sounds lovely to me.

"But well my mom comes from zimbabwe so i spent a lot of time there.

i used to work in a studio where people played that"

well i didn't know that Chris! it's great.

waiting for that The Escapist soundtrack too!

this thread is SOOOO great!

Brilliant news!

The thing that suprised me was no mention of Famous Old Painters and Glass of Water.

Chris Martin: 'Not Everyone Will Like Our New Album'

coldplay200.jpg

Coldplay speak of their direction shift...

Chris Martin says that Coldplay’s impending new album, due out this May, is so different to their first three that he’s fully aware “everyone might not like it.”

The band are currently busy putting the finishing touches to the record in North London with the legendary Brian Eno, and, speaking from the studio, they made it explicit that this album should be treated as a separate entity to their other works.

Guitarists Jonny Buckland explains: "We felt like the first three albums were a trilogy, and we finished that. So we wanted to do something different."

The Rolling Stone, who carried out the interview, describe the album as ‘darker’ and it deals with ‘themes of loneliness and death.’

Frontman Chris Martin admitted that there is more depth to this album than previous ventures: "Whether or not it's good, we certainly started to use more colours. It's impossible to please everybody, and it took us a while to learn that. It's just the freedom to say, 'Everyone might not like this. We're into it at the moment, so let's just get it done.'"

Reflecting upon Brian Eno’s involvement, Buckland continued that he brought in some quite basic but highly influential changes, such as taking more breaks.

"It wasn't so much that he brings like a sound or something to it. He brings lots of ideas about everything, even down to like how we structured our day," he said.

Tracks that appear on the as-yet-untitled new album include ‘Cemeteries of London’, ‘Reign Of Love’, ‘Life In Technicolor’ and ‘Death and All His Friends.’

Yay x infinitie

Though I must admit I'm a little scared, but I was scared of Bloc Party's AWITC from the descriptions and that turned out great.
