God loves us all....the reason why things go bad is coz of the decisions we make. God doesn't force us to do anything. He always presented us with choices. He's really nice, an interesting man and a very good speaker :lol: I'll miss hearing his sermons... but 15 minutes of his talking doesn't make up for listening to 45 minutes of stuff I don't believe and find annoying. March 7, 201115 yr She was first slightly shocked ... which surprised me because I'm quite a cynical person, I thought she would have guessed. Then she went in to denial and said "I don't care what you say, I know there's something there" Then upset looking. Then after church she was like "look how nice we are to each other after church" ( I of course laughed and said, oh last week we hated each other cause we never went to mass ) And now she wants us to go to church more often. Wow, she is definitely in denial. I think my mom suspects that I am an atheist and her solution is to take me to church more often:rolleyes: Yikes. Definitely in denial. Convert her haha. March 8, 201115 yr Yeah. Well the best way to go about it is show that you are still a good person without the church. I agree. Just because someone goes to church doesn't mean they are a good person, it just means they're religious. I think it's good that you made this decision for yourself rather than let other people influence or try to force you to believe in something.

Shouldn't you be using the time you take praying or going to church to use to actually better your life or the world around you? It doesn't make any sense. Religious people always twist any situation to suit their beliefs (Though I will make it clear that I have no problem with people being religious, I just think that they don't think everything entirely through) for example, if something terrible happens, God works in mysterious ways, if something great happens, thank God because he made it happen. And in this situation, which is the first time I've ever heard a religious person say it, God makes no difference to our existence whatsoever he's just judging us from above, what the fuck is that?

March 8, 201115 yr I literally don't know how I can make it any clearer, (Like really? How was that even confusing?) but I'll have a go. You pray to God, you go to church, you believe that God plays no part in our existence, he merely passes judgement on the decisions we make and he does not intervene, so what is the point of praying? What's the point of going to church? You should be using that time to make positive differences in your life or for the people around you. What I'm saying is that if we are merely judged on the actions we take and God does not get involved in our lives then what is the point of religion? It's just a waste of time.

Very true, some of the people that go to church are some of the most controlling and even rude at times. This is confusing even to me, I thought at one time that going to church should change a person but its not the church that changes people, it is Jesus Christ... There are alot of people that want freedom yet because of their idea that church changes rather than Christ changes they go for years on end in the same cycle, struggling with their own will power to be free from what ever is stopping them from being like Christ. My encouragement is to understand who Jesus Christ is, and read about who He himself claimed to be and how He actually is here to help us.

I'm with you on this, religious people can be very confusing...Here is the problem...The religious people you are talking about go to church on a sunday yet they lack the understanding and knowledge of the Bible. How does this make a difference? well church does little for a "christian" if they don't have a relationship with Jesus Christ. The bible answers the questions about bad things happening to good and bad people..It rains on the good as much as it does on the bad, when bad things happening depending on what you are talking about, like for example you lose your house: well you didn't pay your bills, an earthquake, well disasters affected by people and their use of chemicals and taking from the earth the very things that keep it stable, coal, gold. anything to do with mining etc..these things cause eruption because you are taking from what pert of the earth creating a shift in the balance the waters are affected therefore affecting the wind and atmosphere... Just as the affect of less trees has on the city life (cancers etc...) more pollution created by people...We have alot to blame for as a people of any nation regardless of what part of the world your in. When good things happen it is pleasure to praise and thank God for the good and the bad, you see the Bible says that we must praise Him through trials (financial,physical or emotional) and good times. Regardless of the situation He deserves our Praise because He is our maker, He created us. Thanks is what He deserves...

I don't know who this other person is, but prayer means different things to different people.. To the bible believing christian it means relationship building with God (Jesus Christ) in this communication God instructs us to be thankful for what we already have and while we are thankful for what He has given us we also ask to be delivered from sin and evil (which means delivering us out of the hands of the enemy). also to love our haters, which Christ helps us to do, it is much easier to love a friend than to love an enemy.. That is one part of prayer, regarding your situation you would thank God in advance for the blessings that will take place, whether your looking for a job, need a home loan or need healing (physical, mental, emotional). We also pray for others whether christian or not.. So prayer is important, its very important..A christian can not survive without prayer I mean survive the walk of a christian, because our walk is actually very difficult yet is quite easy if you get my understanding. The only contradiction is the walk of a christian, because we can also sin, none are perfect although we live as though we will be perfect through Christ.
