Remember the days of the great Beatles when you buy an album expecting to get 13-15 songs out of it? What is with this 8-10 song bullshit? Don't get me wrong, Coldplay is in my top 5 for greatest bands ever but I have been waiting for this album for 3 years just like everybody else and all they can fit on the final tracklisting is 10 songs?? C'MON!!!! I mean am I the only person that shares this sentiment??

Plus hopefully 1 or 2 top division tracks released independently, and about 10 other tracks that will hopefully be b-sides. Don't panic!

 

They said all along they wanted it to be a great ALBUM that was concise. I hate albums that go on and on and on.

 

It'll be a great album for sure and, fingers crossed, there'll be loads more new tracks released in some way or another. Don't panic.

it's very difficult to make everyone happy... anyway, the songs on the new album will be 12, cause track 5 is a double song (lovers in japan /reign of love) and there will be a hidden track, too

 

and if you consider they initially talked about 9 songs... well, dont worry be happy!!!

THANK YOU, DAVID!! Labels pressure bands to add more and more material since the format allows for more...and indie bands feel they have to do it too...but I'd much prefer their best instead of what they feel is second rate. They can put their lesser songs on B-SIdes, and we'll still get to enjoy them.

I cant think of that many beatles albums which didn't have filler and Coldplay songs tend to be more than 2 minutes and a half each.

 

Actually the average beatles album is 40 minutes, as long as CP's latest.

you are right, you were expecting 15 songs of 2:30 minutes, but now we expect 10 songs of 4 minutes, with better sound, and quality, all we want is quality.
