Since I'm from Catalonia I can tell you the way we celebrate the St George's day (here it's called Sant Jordi). It's basically focused on the couples (in my opinion).

 

The girls give a book to their partner, and the boys who've got a gf give them a rose (traditionally a red one).

The Unelected Scottish government won't give England another bank holiday for their national day, but will give Scotland another bank holiday just for the hell of it, just to rub that England is run by the Scottish, voting on things which harm England but benefit Scotland.

Not really. Even though there's nothing wrong with celebrating your national day. Everyone else seems to do it.
