I've been thinking about starting this thread for a little while, so since i'm trying to make time pass faster in order to get to wednesday's news quicker, and trying to avoid doing a uni assignment, i thought this might be a good time to bring this up...

 

I recently read an article which listed a whole bunch of singers/actors that are CP fans, and for some unidentifiable reason i was interested to know that those "type" of people like the band too. And it got me thinking... its often easy to associate certain bands/singers or music genres with certain "types" of people (whether categorised by age, occupation, nationality, etc), but i wonder how much diversity there is in the CP fanbase... its obvious what countries you're all from, but i'm interested to know what CP fans to for a living (i'm assuming you all have jobs/study and don't just spend all day on this forum)..

I'm 20 years old, male, from Liverpool, 6 ft & 3 inches tall, at university and I study International Business. I want to be in Coldplay when I'm a big boy. I think I'm a nice person, I hope I am. Most Coldply fans tend to be nice don't they.

Not to change the subject but it's always baffled me how my girl-friends will swear up and down they aren't attracted to the idea of two guys making love, yet on here I see evidence that women like thinking about that kind of thing. Guys are turned on by women kissing each other, so the corollary makes sense... I would publish a sociological paper on this but I've got an Italian exam in a few hours.

it's not just here, it's all over the internet. I don't get it, just like I don't get guys who like girl-on-girl stuff. I've got absolutely nothing against gay people, mind you (I'm all for gay marriage and equal rights). I guess internet brings out the "worst" in people, pervert-wise? That would explain why 85% is porn.

I'm a 17 year old female, born in Colombia, raised in Los Angles, currently living in Italy. Um I don't know how tall I am... tall enough I guess :wink3:. I just finished high school and my next goal is to enter a music conservatory.

I consider myself a nice girl..... as long as you like Coldplay :sneaky:

My turn then.. I'll be 20 in a couple of weeks, live in Vienna (Austria) and study journalism. I work in a theatre part-time and am an ordinary student, I guess.

 

As a journalist, I wouldn't mind interviewing some great bands in the future =D I have an internship at Austria's biggest radio station this summer, right in time for the Coldplay album, so hope to hear the songs on the radio as often as possible.

You're prolly right on that. Personally I hate alcohol, and I've never been drunk. I'll be JPB binge drinks (to go along with the stereotype)!

I'm a 17 year old African American female from Maryland, USA.:) I became a Coldplay fan maybe 4 years ago, after I heard Clocks for the first time. I don't know anyone in my area who is a Coldplay fan:cry:. I go off to college in the Fall, majoring in Public Relations...hopefully I'll meet some Coldplay fans in Philadelphia.

I first got into Coldplay when my friend gave me a copy of Parachutes waaay back in july 2000.... I thought it was the most amazing album I'd ever heard.

It seemed to be written just for me :surprised:

That Christmas, all I wanted was a "real" album, instead of a scraped, over-listened-to copy :laugh4:

But, in all seriousness, I find it grand to go for one with friends or whatever but I'm well well well away from what you could call a binge drinker. I know people who can down 13+ easy on a night out but I think it robs it of its fun when you're trying to prevent them from falling onto the road and under a taxi. But that's my opinion. I know an increasing amount of both lads and girls who don't drink or are cutting waaaay down and I have great respect for them because, as any Brits or other Paddys know, in our society, that's pretty tough. And on a side note, the price of it is just going up and up in this country - just like everything else.:cry:
