May 4, 201115 yr For one thing the band was interviewed back in mid-'09 and revealed 25 songs that were being considered for the album. http://www.wikicoldplay.com/LP5#Possible_LP5_songs_-_found_on_the_South_Bank_Show_.28September_2009.29 One of them, as you see, was called "Alien Radio." And with all the UFO related Coldplay stuff like on their page http://coldplay.com/ How if you keep your mouse on the News section opens up to a paper that says "UFO" and same thing on Live Transmission, a UFO comes in and beams up the "Transmission" part of the word. Plus they've been hinting at a UFO theme here and there in other places as well. It just makes it seem likely that "Alien Radio" would then be chosen as one of the songs to be on the album. That's what I think anyway. So maybe yes,Alien radio 1st single:rolleyes:
May 4, 201115 yr I'm pretty sure all of them were deciphered shortly after the interview aired back in 2009. Not sure where that thread/post is though.
May 4, 201115 yr Wandering Stars  can't be topped: :P [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9pF49LkxZY]YouTube - portishead - wandering stars[/ame] EDIT: I think I managed to decipher some of the other song names (we may already have these, but oh well). There were a few I couldn't make out, and I added dashes ( - ) for any missing letters: Akunurde (?) Great E--? (Expectations? Evaluations?) Alien Radio H-- --- ----- ------ Arabesque Lucky Sevens Harmony Wandering Star Any thoughts? I'm pretty sure all of them were deciphered shortly after the interview aired back in 2009. Not sure where that thread/post is though. Here are three to start with: New Coldplay song from 60 Minutes 20 September 2009: Coldplay profiled on South Bank Show (VIDEOS IN FIRST POST) What We Know Will Be On LP5
May 4, 201115 yr EDIT: I'm sorry, someone already posted this yesterday. Oh people, so most of you haven't seen this? This is what NumbersGirl is talking about. Possible LP5 songs The band were seen in discussion with Melvyn Bragg in the autumn as he travelled with them for six months, taking in their win at 2009's Grammy Awards, a tour throughout Japan, the Brit Awards and the War Child concert in London, where they performed with Bono, the Killers and Take That's Gary Barlow. Bragg was also seen spending quality time with the band whilst they worked on their next album in their north London studios, where the following list of songs was gleaned (sp): 1000-1 (Ballad Of …) Aiko Alien Radio Alive Day Arabesque Boyfriend Buzz Car Kids Cartoon Head Cartoon Heart Christmas Lights Drunks And Guns Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall Famous Old Painters Gardeners On The Frontline Great Expectations Harbingers Of Doom Harmony Hook Up Hurts Like Heaven If I Ever Fall In Love Again It Was A Wonderful Day Love In A Lethal Dose Lucky Sevens Princess of China Sex Violence Space Symphony Spanish Rain Up With The Birds Wedding Bells Wilderness Wondering Star
May 4, 201115 yr ^ Ah, thanks. I knew I'd seen some of those song names somewhere :) I really love 1000-1, Love In A Lethal Dose, and Lucky Sevens
May 4, 201115 yr "Harbingers of Doom", "If I Ever Fall in Love Again", and especially "Wondering Star" and "Space Symphony" for me!! I love astronomy and it reminds me of the whole planetary model they built in the studio and how they said it was affecting their writing. I wonder if that's what gave them the idea for those last two. I'm definitely hoping they'll be on the record! :] I'm so pumped for this. I'm really praying we'll get the tracklisting and album title in the next month or two. Woooot!
May 5, 201115 yr Someone asked The Oracle if the album name is A**** *A***. Oracle said it's not. A**** *A*** could stand for Alien Radio?

May 6, 201115 yr Any other guy here who wishes next Coldplay album would be as good as Wild Beasts' new album (Smother)? Out 10th May. Jon Hopkins remixed a song from the previous (and second album) Wild Beasts' a album"Two Dancers". In fact it was Two Dancers (II). You can listen to it here: I think they would be a perfect support act for Coldplay, but also these guys from Kendal and their producer Richard Formby, are one of the best revelations in pop-rock music in the last years, and are a band to follow in the future. Their abilities, sound and sonic palette are beautiful and are still expanding and improving.
