My last exam is on the monday, so I have two days after album release. I don't know whether to be relaxed and listen to it first time monday arvo or waste my saturday morning giving it a good play. :\

 

Although I will definitely be there, 9am sharp on Saturday at JB to buy it :D!

Hang in there guys! I feel a litte ease in temptation too. It was harder when It had just leaked and became available for streaming, I almost broke under the excitement... Pre-ordered off amazon.co.uk, should have shipped today, but I had mistyped my credit card number and only fixed it in the evening, so shipping gets pushed forward a day! :S

It hurts, but I shouldn't complain.

The day has come! I'm going to miss this thread, and all the waiting and nervous excitement and anticipation! I can't even sleep - I might just stay awake until it's time for me to go to HMV for it.

RARRRRRRRR, I've got it in my hands, the gatefold edition!!! I don't know what to do, I want to hear it, but I'm so nervous, I love this excited feeling I've got, ahhh I'm all giddy!

well to all those who are listening to it for the first time after purchase : congratulations :D

knowing that the album was out there and you didn't listen to it, just to make this moment, you are having / had today really special. i hope you enjoyed it and know that it was worth the wait !

It is worth it, so so much. Getting up today and seeing the package had come was like Christmas. It just wouldn't have been the same if I'd already metaphorically peeked under the wrapping by downloading the leak!

btw little question to those who already bought it :

is the gatefold version much more expensive than the regular one ?

I think a lotta people are saying that there's only a gatefold version...I got mine on pre-order off play and there's no option for anything other than gatefold, but it was the same price as a normal album :)

seems like the 'limited gatefold edition' is less rare than the normal edition :laugh3:

ok people it's now officially june 13th here (italian release date XD ) I was actually able to keep myself from listening to it!! in fact.. I've kept myself from listening to ANY Coldplay song for 2 days!! (that's a lot for me) ..In the morning I'm gonna do some scoutin for the cd.... I'm not sure I'll find it cos this is a pretty smal town and I don't think any store will have it here on the day of the release... but I'm definitely gonna try to find it

HMV only had the gatefold version, it was £8.99, I guess the difference in price isn't that much.

 

I had to wait all day to actually listen to it, having bought the CD at 9am, as I was at a tennis tournament all day, so it was agonising when my best friend kept texting me saying, "OMG it's amazing!" But I finally pressed play at 5:45pm (yes, I noted the time cos I'm a geek!) All the waiting has been so much fun, now all there is left for me to do is to listen to it again and again and to get to know and love it even more than I already do. Ahhh I love Coldplay so much. It's incredible the impact that a CD can have on your life. I'm never going to forget any of this, from Prospekt's very first entry all those months ago to today when I finally heard the album.

I'm still waiting. I'm glad there's someone else out there who hasn't heard it yet! I almost heard one of the new songs by accident the other day at school though. Someone was listening to it & I didn't recognize the song but I could tell it was Coldplay. I started yelling, turn it off! turn it off! hahaa :) They were nice about it & changed the song to Violet Hill. I can't remember what it sounded like at all... that was a close call.

closing the curtains. lying down. putting it in my cd player. turning up the volume. and just ENJOYING.

 

I love it. Absolutely. I feel like it's less about Chris Martin (or his voice) this time, and more about plain, simple, beautiful music.

 

I'm still waiting for that big "highlight" to catch my attention though. I like all of the songs, but I don't get goosebumps at all. I think it's because I heard the "Viva la Vida" song before, which would have probably been my big highlight.. I guess.. Sigh, I don't know, I have to give it a second and third and fourth and endless go ;)

I was very impressed with what I was hearing... but as soon as I heard all the guys singing in Death And All His Friends I just started crying and crying! it's so beautiful!!

same here! I stayed up until midnight to listen to it at the release-day...

and it was really worth waiting for!!!:D
