He's not been that good in the league at all this season. Cracking in the Champs league of course. And he's missed plenty.

 

Thought Scott Parker was a much better shout.

 

He's missed a lot of matches through injury (and may ultimately be part of a relegated team).

Vidic is probably more deserving.

Last time Barca had less than 51% of the ball in a game of football? Three years ago, when they lost 4-1 in the Bernabeu to Real, who were champions that season. Incredible.

Bale getting player of the season is a bit of an overreaction. Two brilliant games against Inter Milan doesn't justify that. I would agree with Scott Parker. That man has effectively been a one man show the last season/2 seasons. He's very unlucky to be in a team to be floundering in the relegation zone. That said I would rather not see West Ham get relegated.

I can sympathise with the Sheffield United/relegation debacle and yes you are right about Southerners and Londoners. They even have Sulliven and Gold owning them which is gut wrenching for any team but still I don't have a massive dislike of them for some reason. In fact I don't hate many teams. What I don't get is people hating certain clubs more than they love their own. That's not right.

I don't dislike Russell Brand but nor am I particularly fond of him. Like yourself I really enjoyed his Guardian pieces. He's obviously a very keen football fan. Shame he doesn't write it anymore.
