Was it this nuts when X&Y came out? I only found the place after X&Y's release, so this is my first album madness on here! Did veteran members make fools of themselves with excitement like I have lately? (i.e. the 'Goodnight, my sweet, wonderful Coldplayers' thread? Or am I just going insane? I've never been online for a leak like this and it's like internet CRACK!! So tell me what it was like the last time around!:D:D:D

Yep I remember it well. It wasn't nearly as fun, though... because the first leak of those songs was later in the day (for me) and it was really crappy audio from a secret gig coldplay did in... los angeles, I believe it was.

yes it was that insane, search option was disabled too, which in my opinion made it be more complicated... :uhoh:

 

and yeah it was that much people online.

 

but for some reason i find this one more insane.

 

and btw the leak was earlier than this time i think.

 

it was fun how someone was announcing that he had the album and he begun to send to people even if they hadn't had asked him for... lol. those old times.

(that if i am not mistaken :embarassed:)

Yeah it was about the same, with the difference that no-one had heard anything beside an early mix of Talk and some live songs from a KRCW gig. This time everyone's heard the songs that have been given away, so maybe more of a build-up? Somehow I'm more excited about this one =)

Way worse. I think it's because the official forum, although not gone, is not as easy to find and so people end up coming here. They don't behave proper. Making 50 threads for every subject which is a pain, slows down the board and eats all the bandwidth. But the real problem is posting links in the CP section which brought EM's gazing eye this way. I won't be surprised that once the band starts touring and we try to post concert bootlegs, they tell Ian to take them down.

 

You might think it's cute or exciting, I do not. I find it annoying. If you want to use a message board, learn how or get the hell out. Multimedia section is one of this place's greatest assets and if we end up loosing it that will be a crime.

either way we have had sterling mods both times who did a cracking job keeping on top of stuff.

difficult to tell in terms of the messageboard stats because we were on phpbb during 2005 and it was shit software and kept breaking. vB has done us all proud for 2+ years now :)

i think now its crazier because of the quality of the songs, there's a hell of a lot more people joining our humble messageboard than there ever was!

woah harsh! (though i kinda agree... all these posers are just using us for our endless source of music!)

...Then make the Multimedia section password protected and only give the password out to people who ask and meet whatever requirements you want?

According to your join date (Dec 2004), you would have been here. I think X&Y garnerd so many new fans that this time out must be crazier since they're all now joining here instead of the official forum. It's more fun than anything for me...but I'm not one of the people who cleanse up after us,lol.
