Release day radio bonanza!

Lots of BBC radio happenings today

 

To celebrate the release of our album in the UK today, we're doing a bunch of BBC radio interviews which we thought you folks might like to know about. First up, we're on Jo Whiley's Radio 1 show from 12noon today, which you can listen to online here. Then, we're off to Radio 2 to appear on Steve Wright's show, which you can hear here from 2pm. Finally for today, we'll be on Radio 4's Front Row programme from 7.15pm tonight, here. Then tomorrow, we're on Steve Lamacq's BBC 6 Music show from 4pm - you can listen to that one here.

I was going to ask the same thing - he mentioned two guests but not CP.

 

Already been on? only had it on for 10mins.

were they on the steve wright show (bbc radio 2)???:confused:

 

i listened to most of it and didn't hear them on and strangely steve w. didn't mention them even though it's been plugged the last couple of days??:\

Uh oh, Chris didn't seem too happy :( The interviewer did seem as if he was being a bit of a k**b, or was he? I don't know - I'm quite confused!

I switched it off, I couldn't listen.

Oh, poor Chris... sounds like all the publicity is starting to get to him. :stunned::(

He came back, answered one more question about, I can't even remember, and he just answered "Yes, yes, yes, yes". That was the end of it then.

Urgh.

I think he was pissed off at the "very morbid" remark and probably thought "here we go again, Coldplay = boring". Which pissed me off too a bit. I know some might say "he should be professional and answer questions politely" etc, but that guy seemed to totally miss the point of what the album's about. Or maybe he didn't, I don't know, I'm still confused :( I hope Chris is ok.

 

I'm surprised this site hasn't crashed with people posting "OMG!!!" - everyone must still be in shock or something :P

I guess that's what you call an epic clash of personalities...

Chris made that melons joke which the interviewer took the wrong way and it all seemed to escalate from there :confused:

 

Kept saying he was putting words in his mouth and stuff.

F**king hell, I forgot about the melons thing, saying he was making sexist jokes - WTF?! I absolutely admire Chris for walking out and asnwering that last question the way he did. Not because I'm a fanboy and I think the sun shines out his arse - that interviewer was just weird. Bloody hell.

He doesn't do himself any favours though does he? He just seems to hand the insults out for these people to write the next day.

 

Ah well, all very awkward. Not sure why they were even on Radio 4 in the first place.

Yeah the press are going to love this. I've changed my mind now, I kind of wish he hadn't walked out. Ahh. That was pre-recorded for sure, who knows what they edited out.

Listening again, that would have been hard for anyone to do- every time Chris tried to answer a question and ended up thinking out loud, the guy didn't understand what he was going on about, shut him down rather than bringing him back, wouldn't let him think, and then pounded him with another tough question, always trying to lead him. I can see why he'd get upset or overwhelmed.
