Perez Hilton posted something nasty about this today. Called Chris "Diva".

urg, it's sickening how he keeps calling him 'chrissy' as well

what a pillock.

the interviewer wasn't bad at all...what the heck?? what the freak was wrong with chris? was he just in a pissy mood or what? wow, i have to agree with everyone who's saying this was over-the-top...that was just weird.

To point out the bleedin' obvious, fans of the band are generally going to leap to his defence as they're, well, fans of the band. This does mean they'll hold a slightly unbiased view of the interviewer. So I'm with you on the fact people may be a little too eager to blame the interviewer.

In all fairness, I haven't heard the full interview. However, I did listen to Will and Chris on Jo Whiley and even then Chris was very nervous and over-apologising for a comment he made about chocolate being like crack to him.

It's not entirely the interviewers fault...Chris did seem a little oversensitive.

The interviewer was just asking all the wrong questions.

I know I'm changing my opinion like every five seconds. :P

alright, i've listened to the entire interview.

chris had a diva moment, that's for sure. the way he said it was sarcastic-like and i didn't hear anything that should warrant that response...even the comments before-hand were not at all meant as a slam against chris or coldplay in general, and when chris accused the guy of trying to twist his words i didn't see where he got that from.

maybe, when he came back and answered the last question, he sounded somewhat remorseful, or maybe just annoyed. but i'm disappointed by how he acted. i'm glad will was able to keep his head and he gets a lot of respect from me from having to clean up after chris sometimes. but, the interviewer did nothing wrong. and as everyone else said, chris seemed annoyed from the very beginning so you gotta hand it to the interviewer for trying to at least rephrase some of the things he was saying when he saw that it bothered chris, when in reality he didn't have to. anyways, bad day for chris, and he's going to get some diva comparisons for sure...will comes out looking better in my book, tho. hopefully chris will be more up for "talking about things" next time he has an interview...

fair enough...except what we heard clearly wasn't the entire interview....as it was pre-recorded, it was also edited...as many have pointed out, we may never know fully what happened...

maybe so, but chris had that tone of sarcasm the whole interview...and when he got will to answer one of the first questions...he just sounded disinterested the whole time.

i thought bbc had taken off the part where the interviewer was being really rude

i downloaded the interview...it has more than bbc had but really bbc's not missing much.

and actually i take back what i said about chris sounding sad at the end...i could hear him snicker a bit as he was answering the question. this is not a side of chris i'm used to...

and i like how will reassured the interviewer that he did nothing wrong, will must have realized chris was in a pissy mood.

I love that side of chris  never seen it

it's understandable when you have so much press and people critizising what you've been working on for the past 2 years or so

..the last thing he needs is that type of bullshiz

Ew, I was just surfing for Coldplay news (hooray Google news!), and now E! has discovered the story. Of course, E! is complete and utter crap, but the story was so twisted and over the top that I posted a response :P

^It'll be old news in anotyher day or so,lol.

Unfortunately for Chris, the purpose of an interview is to 'talk about things'...like the album, lol. He really did sound a little ignorant of that fact.:laugh3:

I don't think he didn't want to talk about the album, I think he just got offended by the 'sexist' and 'morbid' comments. Took them too personally.

It was a stupid thing to happen, I bet he feels like a right fool now

It's on the front page of the BBC website now - "Coldplay talk to Front Row...for a bit".

I hate such things, seriously. This shows how the media can blow up things - to us, it's a tiny thing we discuss here, but I can already see my friends ask me tomorrow after reading the shit in some stupid tabloid:

"I heard that your pussy Coldplay Chris was a diva again, huh?"

Just like I keep hearing "Did you know Coldplay have a track with Kylie Minogue? How gay!" or "Chris Martin keeps talking about wanting to be as hot as Brad Pitt, right? How pathetic! What a loser."

Sigh. Anyone else experiencing crap like that?

LUckily, my non-coldplay friends don't care enough to bug me about it, and really it's kind of funny...in a wierd Chris way, lol. It's sad that the media will make a big deal of it, but it's us fans that matter, and we're loyal.

Just the line 'I don't like to talk about things' in an interview is kind of ironic, lol. (And yes, it's quite out of context on it's own.)

And because you spoke of Perez Hilton before - god, I start hating him more and more (no, not just because he hates "Chrissy" and whatever comes with him, but because he can't stop talking shit):

"Coldplay's new album Living La Vida Loca Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends" sold 125,000 copies its first DAY out in the UK, according to new reports.

It's expected to clinch the #1 spot on the UK album chart. Easily.

We're not a big fan of the album.

It sucks!"

Why the hell does PEREZ continue calling himself "WE" or "us"?

Yeah, no one's ever bugged me about Coldplay. I'm not a fanboy but they are my favourite band. I've certainly never heard anyone talk about Chris to me.

I think he's using 'The Royal We', like Queen Victoria...We are not amused. He's not worth paying attention too, imo... what a loser!

Front row - You were in a position where you just sold 10,000,000 records

Chris (Typical Chris jokes) - No just 10! :laugh3:

Front row (ignoring) - No, 10,000,000 copies of X&Y.

Tosser

I can see it from both angles. Chris definitely overreacted, but the interviewer was throwing in some subtle jabs here and there. What I totally disagree with is the notion that Chris "stormed out." If you listen to the interview, Chris politely got up and asked for "two minutes." Though, he did follow that by muttering "I don't like doing these interviews." But c'mon, I would hardly categorize that as a tyraid.

This interview definitely shouldn't go in the annals of Coldplay-media interaction, but portraying Chris as an egomaniacal pop star storming out of interviews is far fetched, to say the least.

That's why that E! article I stumbled upon got under my skin. They said he "stormed out" and "threw a hissy fit" and a "tantrum". What interview were THEY listening to? It was completely misrepresented... ugh.

Sometimes the media just makes me so angry that I want to throw my TV out the window!
