the ceremony has been very nice.....the most ugly part have been the speeches

I watched the beginning of the ceremony and thought it was quite boring! Nothing compared to the first one. Then I switched over to Formula 1 and... voilà... boring as hell, too. So back to the ceremony which became interesting when...

 

 

... David Beckham entered the bird's nest with a big London double-decker and lots of umbrellas! :D

 

 

Why decided the NBC not to broadcast the ceremony live? :o

They might've, but in the states that would've meant 7 a.m, most people aren't even awake by then, while prime time doesn't show up for another 12 hours.

Michael Phelps looked like he had fun in London, it was great him being interviewed and then the Red Arrows flying over. What a guy.

I screamed when Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page came on!!!....well Beckham tooo too but Jimmy Page :):)

 

Shame Ms Lewis's vocals were shocking to say the least.

Back to the Olympics... did anyone hear about the American shooter who repeated what he did in Athens by messing up on his very last shot again with the Gold medal in his grasp (as a result of his 2004 mistake, he got married to the Czech shooter who went upto him to comfort him!)

I have to say i was like ok , thats cool with Leona lewis singing casue its going to london for the next olympics, but when Jimmy Page came on and they sang "whole lotta Love' i was fuckin psyched!!! now we just need Jonny and Eric Clapton for the next London Olympics to Jam out!!! maybe a little "layla" for the old folks:rolleyes: or "MY guitar gently weeps" to tribute George Harrison. oh a girl can dream

yeah, the closings were nothing in comparison to the openings, controversy and all. i thought the part with all the singing was a bit cheesy, actually.

 

i know this is old news, but what about british runner martyn rooney a few days ago? taunting the other runners in the relay?! that was just so un-olympian. as much as i root for great britain all the time...i had to stop rooting for martyn rooney after that.

i have to say i'm not so hot on the logo, either. to me it's very '80's. i'd expect london to have something a bit classier and more modern. is there any hope of changing it? i like the one that was used during the bidding better too, even though it's somewhat boring. i really did like the beijing one. but yes, the humping 2012 must be changed.
