it was NOT awesome

it was tedious, long, drawn out and to prove it, my grandad fell asleep watching it!

ALL THE WAY THROUGH IT, and woke up just after it finished!

:P

The original performances were extremely cool,

but the parade was boring as fuck.

204 countries? fuck off.

I'd rather watch gay porn.

Ok, I should have elaborated....I meant the man running around the stadium roof and the fireworks. It was awesome!

but I only watched the last hour........

because it started too early... 8.08 in the morning here...

I watched a bit in the shopping centre this afternoon and also in the evening news a few minutes ago. It was brilliant and everyone is impressed by China's hospitality. :)

Actually, they would find a way to slag her off. She got a lot of criticism for dropping out in Athens, although it turned out she had been feeling unwell before the race.

no, they blamed the heat.

the opening ceremony was genius!!! i loved the drummers and the rowing. very good. and in future very hard to make it better.

Emmons totaled 503.5 points for the title, followed by Russian Lioubov Galkina in the second place at 502.1. The bronze medal went to Snjezana Pejcic of Croatia with 500.9 points.

and

anyone who watched the first one hour could not of possibly found it boring. it was easily the best show of any kind i have ever seen visually and aurally. yes i admit that the parade of nations is a bit tedious but its always interesting to see what costumes they all wear and hilarious to see countries with 2 competitors and 10 officials. and the random order in which they came out made it all the more interesting (apparently its by the number of strokes in the spelling of the country's name)

can't wait to see what unfolds over the next two weeks. sick of all the china-bashing thats gone on over the last 6 months time to let them give us the best games ever (after of course sydney which will never be beaten)

Wow, that Opening Ceremony takes the cake! I missed the first half hour but the rest I did see was beautiful! I don't know how Vancouver and London can beat that torch lighting! Just, WOW.

I agree, I feel sorry for the guy putting together the 2012 olympics (in london right?), I've never seen a show so spectacular.

Oh and I forgot. How adorable that little boy was! And how lucky! To be carried by Yao Ming and experience that awesome show; I'm sure it's something he'll never forget :) I almost cried when his story was told; when we're young we're so innocent.

What an awesome opening ceremony!

But, personally I like Doha 2006 Asian Games in Qatar opening more :)
