What we wouldn't have given to be a fly on the wall when Courtney Love went to stay with Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow! Lucky for us, we have the next best thing.

 

Courtney has been kind enough to write an entry on her blog telling us all about her recent visit to their London home -- and give us a peek inside the lives of two of the most secretive celeb couples out there!

 

Apparently, Gwynnie wears an apron when she cooks (of course she does!), theirs is definitely not a non-smoking household, the Shakespeare In Love star has a very high IQ and is "as light as a feather".

Kurt Cobain's widow got to know the couple when they ended up hanging out together in New York.

 

Since then, Courtney says, Gwyneth has been a "dear friend" and has been inviting her to come and and stay in London for years. Gwynnie, who she calls 'GP' in the Myspace blog, even calls her every month to see if she's alright, apparently.

 

But when the Hole singer finally got around to taking her up on the offer, she writes that she had something of a panic attack on the way to their house in the Chelsea area of London.

 

"My anxiety is kicking in and I am terrified I am not good enough for GP, for their beautiful lovely home, and lovely lifestyle and lovely family," she frets.

 

"OMG I am freaking out. What if my hair is messy? What if my extensions fall out?," and so she continues, panicking about everything from her perfume clashing with Gwyneth's to whether she knows enough Latin and Greek history for Chris!

 

But after getting a big hug from the couple and few hours hanging out with kids Apple and Moses ("they seem to like me") they were having a great old time.

 

So what's it like inside their home?

 

Well, Courtney says that when she find Gwyneth in the kitchen, she is wearing an apron from the chic Anthropologie store.

 

And smoker Courtney was overjoyed when she sees "a big old ashtray, two lighters and two packs of Silk Cuts" on a table. "I can have a smoke without getting arrested or kicked out," she enthuses.

 

Courtney also says that she discovered Gwyneth's IQ, and while she won't say the figure, she admits it "is out of this world and much higher then mine."

 

Not only that, but she has "an ethereal glow" and it "as light as a feather" (Courtney bear-hugged her so enthusiastically that she lifted her off the ground).

 

"I love this girl, I love her husband, I love her kids," she gushes. But she seems most taken with the Coldplay singer, and gives him the highest compliment that a world-class egotist like Courtney knows!

 

"I haven't been impressed in a long time, by someone, other than myself."

Thanks for posting! That was pretty entertaining to read. The fact Gwyneth and Courtney know each other makes for news itself, like the pairing is so odd that it becomes fascinating stuff lol.

 

Gwyneth comes across as a very intelligent lady so a high IQ would be fitting, but I'd still like to know what it is lol. As for Chris, who wouldn't be impressed by him? I know I'd be just as nervous but then again if I knew I could stay at their house for a couple weeks I'd be trying to act 'normal' and not grab every object in sight for them to autograph lol.

I'm guessing she won't be asked back after that, looks really desperate...

Absolutely! Really interesting for us to read (and thanks for posting Mimi!) but she doesn't look good at all. Poor girl - Courtney's long been someone who needed a very true friend who will sort her out...I really wish she can find that person someday soon (and here's hoping :))

She must have had a great time and didn't say anything bad but if a friend of mine - who I know is concerned a lot about privacy - had invited me to her home, I wouldn't go public sharing details like she did...

But of course attentive as ever, they have smoke gear for the guests.

I've always resented Courtney because of Kurt somehow and there you have it, she is crazy AND just as good and willing as any of us.

Not sure that she'll be called back. She wrote some nice things about them, but both of them are very closed and they dont like anyone knowing anything about their personal life. Which is ok. People love his music, and her movies but we really dont need to know what are they eating, where are they going to buy bread and which bed time stories they tell to kids. I know she didnt wrote that, but all those yellow stamp magazines would.

only because its courtney love and i was under the impression that she was the extremely kind of "messed up" one. didnt seem like the type to hang out with them. who knows, who cares.

I think Courtney and Gwyneth go way back. I remember reading that when GP was filming Duets with her father, who directed the movie, she asked him if she could be excused early for the day to go to a Hole concert.

So Courtney Love abolishes some of what little privacy Chris was trying to keep to himself and Gwennie in a MySpace blog.

I suppose if Courtney asked if it would be alright to say those things, then it would be fine.. but yea, it's tough enough keeping some privacy these days! She's apparently a gossip hound then? Hmm.. but isn't she already known for that? I do not know. Well, anyhow, if Gweneth needs to gain a few pounds, I'm sure I could cook her a good-old-fashioned meal, complete with watercress salad, and fresh garden veggies!:)

:thinking: I could believe the whole thing, yet because of this line I don't believe a word. somehow this picture shot won't match this picturebook household. only think of apple and moses being around there....no way!
