Liam Gallagher still hates Coldplay...or their fans

Featured Replies

Wow!

What an informative, concise and articulate post. You really made your point well!

It seems that after a while fans start to resemble their idols. Maybe if you and Liam rubbed a braincell together we could get a decent conversation out of you both :nice:

I think you are being a little harsh there. Making them both produce a brain cell....I mean come on.

Oasis is nothing in the US, very few even know who they are. I like them, but like I said, people know wonderwall and that is it.

Welcome to the forum Shakey, we are all here to express our feelings , but you do understand that we love Coldplay, truly, madly, deeply. love em or leave em. I am very protective of my Coldplayers

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Coldplay are shite. This thread!

See you in 20 years when coldplay have reached Oasis' level.

I suppose, each to their own, I shouldn't be mesagint this, wasting my time, but after reading the posts, well, LOL.

oooh iTunes advert - go us!

Well if we learned one thing from the thread it's that Oasis isn't that bad, only their fans are complete simpletons.

Who is this Liam fellow, and why does he use such blatant stereotypes for saying such things about Coldplay fans?? Seems kinda super-wrong for anyone to be that biased.

So, this Oasis bunch - what's their problem?:laugh3:

I'm gonna give this thread something it deserves, something classy.

Oasis makes better music. Music that I can be proud to listen to. I lost a lot of respect for Coldplay when the started making sappy bullshit songs like A Message and Proof.

Give me Acquiesce, Go Let It Out, The Importance of Being Idle, My Big Mouth, i.e. real rock songs with a passion and a swagger behind them over any sappy Coldplay cry-along.

Sappy? How so? Coldplay never once even pretended that they were a hard rock band, they're quite the opposite, actually. "Sappy", in your words, is what they DO... those are some of the songs that define Coldplay. If you want hard rock, go ahead and listen to someone else who actually IS a rock band, and not a fabulously alternative/soft rock group. :smug:

Oooh good one! Very true. ;)

I must agree in a certain way. I was in a guitar ensemble for a semester. Once, after class, I started fooling around on the piano in the room and started playing trouble. A girl in the ensemble heard it, smiled, jumped up and...soon enough...I was flung headlong into conversation about coldplay and music.

She was big into coldplay, jeff buckley, elliot smith etc. She eventually burned me a mix...but anyway, while we were talking she said how she really liked music like coldplay that's emotional but not really emo. It was awkwardly worded, but I agreed completely.

In alternative rock music there always seems to be this divide between rock bands that rely on manly guitar and solos while having vacuous lyrical content....and emo bands that consists of spoiled rich kids crying about their lives.

There's a market for macho rock and emo cry baby rock, and Coldplay bridges that to present something beautiful and sincere.

You have an optimistic band full of members who feel they have the best job in the world, and therefore can deliver sincerely apologetic songs like "trouble" without coming off as self-loathing douchebags. and that doesn't come often and while I love Oasis, they are a little too into rock n' roll to hit coldplays level, not that there's anything wrong with that....there's music for everybody, and people shouldn't be bashing coldplay just because they appeal to a different set of emotions than your typical rock bands.

you live in canada

What does my country have anything to do with it? I listen mostly to British music. Oasis have past their prime. There is a reason Jay-Z got invited to Glastonbury and not Oasis. Jay still has it Oasis doesn't.

No matter what Oasis' new album will not be as good as Viva La Vida. I know this because Oasis wont push their comfort zone and aren't as committed to the music. Chris Martin is a true musician, he is willing to do anything to make better music. He left his family to make his music better.

Liam will never leave the bottle. The argument needs to be less Coldplay vs. Oasis, its more Liam vs. The World.

Stuff like that is to be expected from Liam. It's who he is. With the new Oasis record about to drop, I fully expect the usual round of slagging from him (and Noel) in the near future.

The part that gets me is the bit about Coldplay "not looking like their enjoying themselves", When Oasis stands about on stage like a series of poles rooted in the ground. Not to mention Andy Bell's just the best vaguely dissinterested facial expression outside of Charlie Watts.:laugh3: (And before you jump on me, let it be said that I love both Andy and Charlie).

Noel should really go solo, he's got Talent, and is cool. Liam is like a trained ape, without very good training...

I don't bash them as such I just say personally I'm not into thier music at all, for me strong guitar is a vital element in rock which is something Coldplay lack, Buckland isn't a great player in my view but don't take this to mean he's without talent because I'm not saying that, his style suits the band and thier style as a band works-look how many fans they have, I do like softer more emotional songs too, in fact I have a very broad musucal taste but Coldplay just don't fit in it anywhere, that said Oasis doesn't really either, my favourite song they've done I think would have to be Supersonic.

Its' on the days that I feel boring and ugly that I listen to Wonderwall..

Afterwards I want badly to listen to the first 3 albums of Coldplay after each other to feel really better. :nice:

Since I have been listening to Viva la Vida on a daily basis I have had more luck with men than in ages. What could this mean ?

i do hope he'll get hit by a car

now this is your third time posting rubbish in this discussion. the people here love coldplay and their music, so why don't you just f*** off?! well if you hate them, just go away! we dont want to hear all this bull**** from you oasis fans. you are all as rude as all them gallagher family(who indeed lived down here in manchester and used to rub cars and be "chavs")!:veryangry2:

Cause "Wonderwall", "Don't Go Away", "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" etc. etc. are so hardcore?

And to add on what previously has been said, Oasis is a band living through their former glory...there was a time when everyone wanted to sound like Oasis and have their success, but they haven't made a truly good album since Morning Glory..while 3 of 4 Coldplay albums have all gotten very good responses from the fans and the critics. Now everyone is just waiting for Oasis to reach the heights of DM and MG again...they still haven't after all these years. Oasis has gotten boring (a long time ago).

Sorry I just think you're simply not able to understand Proof.

You might still, one day, Ugadawg.

you sound very "manchester" in that little rant sir. you don't sound much different from the brothers you are slagging off.

i still like coldplay; i appreciate their relatively clean-cut image. they are a good band for the masses to get into. i just think that Oasis is more interesting, both in personality and music.

Birds flying from the underground

If you could see that you would understand

Are you saying Oasis is trying to stay more "underground" with the arrogant attitude ?

Remember Kurt Cobain saying that millions of people could not be right as if his own music and lyrics had gone bad when being appreciated by masses of people.
