i think plan B should be sending them to the official fanmail address, though i'm not really completely objected to flooding the bakery mailslot, either. it just requires more work to do that, with the envelopes and all, and i think tons of people would get very confused if we changed the rules that drastically.

if plan b is just the fanmail address, no one needs to do anything differently. if plan b is sending them to a coldplayer that would drop them off at the bakery, the entire project would need to be reworked and there isn't a lot of time for that.

I think our choices are:

1-The official fan mail :\

2-Redgirl is willing to set up a PO BOx for us, but if we go on that choice it should be done like NOW, and we would still need to figure out who and were she would hand them out......

3-I like the bakery-mail slot idea, we just need someone willing to do the job....... maybe this one and opcion #2 would work out nice together.......

................................

ooh pris, you're right. shit. i didn't even think about the EXTRA ten days required for a coldplayer to set up a PO box! that means we wouldn't get this show on the road for like another 15 days, which is WAY too late.

ok, my vote is wholeheartedly for the official fanmail address. to me, its pretty clear that the bakery route would be a bad move.

if we don't get news probably we'll need to take more time to do this.. since at christmas time the mailing gets slower, maybe we should wait to do it after that... I hate this idea but I don't know what to do :(

DEEEEEEEEEEBBBBBBBBBBBBSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bigcry:

Even if we took redgirl up on her offer to set up the P.O. box we'd still have to potentially wait a few weeks since it takes a while to set up apparently. :\

*sigh*

that's another option, yeah. i don't like it, but it does make a lot of sense. and assumedly, they will be in london in january...but COME ON DEBS.

lore, do you think i should write another email? i think we should try at least ONCE more before completely giving up and going with the fanmail address.

this is sooooo sad.......... :(

yep Chelsea, please!

Ya, I also think that maybe waiting till after Christmas could be better. We would have Debs help still!!

I know everyone is in a panic about Christmas mail times and stuff, but I really think we still have enough time. If Deb can sort out a PO Box, we could say everyone has to have their postcards arrive there a week before Christmas - that's still SEVEN weeks away. Wherever you live in the world, and no matter how bad your postmen are, they would still arrive in plenty of time.

If you wanted me to do it, and hand it over at the Liverpool gig, that's still FIVE weeks away. Again, I think that's plenty of time. I reckon most people probably have their postcards ready, so could post them as soon as they have the address.

As an aside, I'll be down in London the week between Christmas & New Year too.

^i like the part about being in london; i'm not so hot on the liverpool gig at all.

you're right, seven weeks is a long time, but i say better safe than sorry, especially for people in countries with less-effective postal systems or people that are really far away. personally, i think it's way better for them to get there weeks early and for debs to save them rather than them starting to be sent close to the actual date of delivery, because then several postcards would probably arrive to the PO box AFTER debs already gave the cards to the boys, and i think that's a bit sad for those people. plus, in my experience, international postcards from countries with GOOD postal systems can take anywhere from three days to SEVEN WEEKS, which is exactly how much time we have.

waiting till after christmas is an option, too. i think we should wait to hear from debs for another 5 days or something, and then make a call on whether to send them to the fanmail address or wait until after christmas.

i just wrote another email.

Cool (Oh, that Chelsea's so mature!)

I personally think sending them to the Fan Club address would result in most of them never getting seen by the band - but maybe I'm just being old and cynical there. It could be that Debs just isn't checking her email at the moment if she's away (on tour perhaps?)

The fact that she responded so quickly the first time, proves she thought it was a great idea, so I'm sure it's not a case of her having forgotten or that she can't be bothered.

I'm sure you'll be hearing for her soon

I feel the same about the fanmail............. :\

ok, so we're waiting 5 more days???

or maybe we'll give it until next friday to move on to plan B???

haha . you really get a kick out of me being so young, don't you? :P

i agree about the fanmail address. with most bands, the band never sees the stuff. debs claims that she reads everything that comes through there, and i think she'd pay special attention to all our cards with the logo on them, maybe even set them aside, but it's most certainly not as effective. i'm slowly thinking our best bet, IF debs doesn't get back to us, is waiting until after christmas. however, we'll need to be specific with her about dates and all.

i also don't think debs is ingoring us, or even that she hasn't checked her email (i mean, really, i bet she has a blackberry and everything :D). i think she's probably just REALLY busy, so another polite email might do the trick and remind her that we're still waiting. i'm perfecting one now.

i don't think she's ignoring us either.......

as you said maybe she's terribly busy, or the PO box address hasn't been given to her.............

buit why exactly is it we can't send them to say.. redgirls house and have them dropped off?

forgive me if youve already covered this option

its not impossible, but to me, its not the best option. in her original email, debs didn't seem so hot on us going to the bakery. that's predictable, i guess, but i think that we first should wait for debs to say something, and if she doesn't then make some sort of call on a plan B with all the pros and cons of each plan covered.

maybe we should threathen her :P

tell her we WILL stalk the bakery if she doens't answer in 24 hours...

I'm sure that will get a response.
