^^ I've been trying to figure that one out since they first played it- "half full" makes more sense in terms of the whole "optimist= half full / pessimist= half empty" saying, but I think it's actually "how full".

First off, how does a word made up by Chris make anymore sense than 'hollowest'?

 

'Hollow' would mean without meaning. A halo (Or a mark of merit, something that tells people you've done good) that is hollow means one didn't receive it under true or meritous circumstances. Such as 'praise received by making others look bad is no praise at all', making the praise you receive hollow in nature.

The begginning is LitII, where all the disaster is comming, then in GOW, he askes what is his destiny going to be, later in Rainy Day the rain came and separated him from his love... In PM he sees all the disaster around him and hopes not to die, but he dies in Now my feet won't touch the ground, going to heaven just like he was asking on GOW.

It's also interesting to read that Prospekt is a character made up by Chris Martin, because then Prospekt's March the EP could very well be the story of a soldier, Coldplay's concept album/EP if you like.

 

Side note: love this EP, easily the best thing Coldplay's done imho, has the ease/casual sound of parachutes and the lack of 'tryhardness' which ruined parts of viva la vida and x&y but the solid production values and maturity gained from those albums. Looking forward to next album!

I misunderstood the concept, in my world, that line would mean "the best of the praises is still no praise at all"...

Further 'improved' it. I'm not sure about all lines, but it seems it is almost solved now.
