Yeah I would've prefered a Federer/Soderling final, it would've been a great match!

It's really a pity that Dementieva retired, she was a great player! Better than the current n°1 at least... :p

She's undeniably the nicest Russian player ever.

You don't like Wozniacki? :surprised: Why?

Totally! I love watching her in interwiews:)

I don't know exactly why, lol I just think that others deserve the n°1 place more than her...

Maybe it's just a stupid false impression^^

I like her.

I don't like Williams sisters. :|

I mean, I don't like them on court, but behind the baseline they live a cool lifestyle. :)

Yeah I don't like the Williams sisters either.

Why didn't THEY leave instead of Dementieva?! :(

I'd rather watch Dementieva than either of the Williams brothers any day. However, my two faves are currently Wozniacki and Clijsters.

Yup klijsters is great too. :)

But I still prefer to watch men play, the game is more intense and less boring :p

I prefer to watch the women play, as long as they look feminine.

Lol I bet you love to watch Kuznetsova play^^ :p

She isn't one of my favourites, but she doesn't look or play like a man, like certain other players I could mention...................................

That's not very respectful towards women who train the hardest to get bulk muscle (Albeit at the sacrifice of looking masculine) to get to the top of the sport because they are professional athletes and not catwalk models. Not liking women tennis players or respecting them as athletes who train hard, just because you aren't attracted to them, that's infinitely sexist.

Oh come on I don't think he was being sexist.

And it's not because a tenniswoman looks like a "model", that she's less professional than another!

He was just stating a fact, when a tennis player plays well and is good looking, it's just more pleasant!

I don't think he meant that his only criterion is what they look like, just that he prefers to watch feminine looking women.... that's quite understandable! ^^

Thanks, and you're right, of course.;)

Nobody's saying they have to look like supermodels, of course (in fact, I couldn't stand Kournikova, who was very overrated and overhyped as a player IMO).

There's a massive difference between attractiveness and femininity.

Sharapova is arguably one of the most attractive players on the circuit, but she has never been one of my favourites.

Steffi Graf, Justine Henin, Kim Clijsters and latterly Caroline Wozniacki have all impressed me far more.

They have all managed to become the number one player in the world without playing in a masculine manner like certain other players I could mention.

Henin, in particularl, proved once and for all that you don't have to be a muscle-bound giant to be the best in the world.

It's a pity she picked up that serious injury this season. I hope she manages to overcome it.

^^

disagree with you on wozniacki. she loves to stand on the baseline and just pound the ball. very much a power game. dont get me wrong, i love watching her play but she doesnt have the grace of henin or clijsters.

Kournikova one of the most overrated players?! It's impossible for her to be overrated, people like you look at her and think "Oh big surprise pretty blonde girl couldn't win a grand slam" when at one stage she was in the top 10 in the world, and the points system isn't reliant on looks.

As far as being sexist goes, I still can't believe what I'm reading, and you are still totally missing the point. You are judging women on their appearance and even damning them for it, not only do you not acknowledge the amount of work that players like Serena puts in to get that muscle, you seem to almost think it's like cheating.

Like what are you even talking about?!

It's just insane, playing in a "masculine manner"? What?!

You say it like it's such a shunned thing, like how dare they play in a masculine manner? What exactly does that mean?

Sharapova and Wozniacki are both feminine and from trying to make sense of the jibberish you are dribbling about playing in a 'masculine manner', they both play baseline power shots and don't have a lot of technique or finesse to their game.

Look at Amelie Mauresmo who was built like a horse and used that power at the base line, but also had a lot of skill coming forward to the net, who knows what you think of that.

Of course I prefer looking at hot tennis players, but the way that you let their levels of attractiveness bias your way of judging how they play and what they deserve as human beings for the work they put in, thats mental.

^^

This is not about playing style. All three of them have a different style, but the fact is, none of them either resembles or plays like a man.

I respect Wozniacki for her attitude, fighting qualities, and personality.

Graf's game was the perfect combination of power and grace.;)

This is not about playing style.

Right let's get this straight: This has nothing to do with playing style, playing like a man, a woman who goes out there and plays like a man, none of those things- nothing to do with that.

All three of them have a different style' date=' but the fact is, none of them either resembles or plays like a man.

Oh well, wowee, he contradicted himself in the next sentence.

Anyone that thinks playing "like a man" is a style obviously knows nothing about tennis.

Anyone who somehow thinks Anna Kournikova is rated highly for her tennis skills is braindead.

Back in the day, you'd have thought she was the best player in the world the way they used to go on about it, but she was far from it.:dozey:

I never rated her highly in any way whatsoever, anyway.

Nice to see the ceremony that they had to honour Carlos Moya.

Maradona was at the Djokovic - Berdych match he was pretty animated when Djoko won a point. Never thought Maradona would be a Djokovic fan. :laugh3:

Murray showed Soderling who's boss yesterday!:smug:

Convincing win from Federer its nice to see him playing in full flow after the constant hiccups this season, Murray was poor though.

I'm betting on Federer for the final ;) (what a wild guess huh?!^^)

Murray showed Soderling who's boss yesterday!:smug:

Yeah well he can't always win :P (i admit he was playing very bad)

He just rectified it with a win against Ferrer this evening :)
